The Yamaha TRBX505 5-String electric bass is a perfect choice for a variety of bassists, serving up an assortment of tonal possibilities with the quality you've come to expect from Yamaha--all at a price no musician can argue with. The TRBX505 features a sleek mahogany body with beveled edges and a smooth double cutaway design--offered in your choice of three translucent finishes including translucent black, translucent brown and translucent white. The 5-piece maple/mahogany neck is carved into an ultra-comfortable, fast profile and features a 23 5/8" radius rosewood fingerboard to provide you with the ultimate playability up and down the entire neck.

The TRBX505 comes equipped with extremely flexible electronics which incorporate a pair YGD designed H5 pickups and an active/passive preamp. The alnico magnets combined with the quad-polepiece yield enough power to drive the active circuit but are sensitive enough to capture every nuance in the passive mode. To seamlessly shape your tone to perfection, the audiophile-grade active/passive circuit features an active/passive toggle switch, treble, bass and mid controls, a pickup balancer control and a master volume. To avoid losing power in the middle of a performance, the back panel of the TRBX505 comes equipped with a battery alert LED light to warn you when the battery is low.

The TRBX505 5-String boasts black nickel hardware including a set of die-cast tuning machines and a high-mass die-cast bridge providing you with the optimal transfer string vibration and tuning stability, easy adjustability and road-worthy durability. Case not included.

This is a Great Instrument and A Great Buy!

I did a lot of research before deciding on this bass. I wanted a variety of tones from passive thump to aggressive growl. This bass surpassed my expectations and fit within my budget. Great action, tone, and feel. I bought it as used, but there was no evidence of use. It came with all the wrenches and documentation sealed. Couldn't ask for more!

I love my five string bass !

I really like the way you can switch from Active to passive Pickups I've never had anything with active pickups before. I found out fairly quickly to unplug the bass when you are not using it or it drains the battery ! I am just learning to play I bought a inexpensive four string to begin with but fell in love with that bass sound so I bought a better quality five string just for that extra low note lol
