Yamaha Musical Instruments

With a product line that spans almost every possible musical instrument - it would be easier to list what they don't make - Yamaha offers musicians of all genres and levels quality instruments for learning, performing and recording.

Yamaha's musical roots go all the way back to 1800s. In 1887 company founder Torakusu Yamaha built his first reed organ. The success of this instrument led to the production of pianos and very quickly the company began to develop a reputation for fine craftsmanship and expanded their line to include harmonicas, phonographs and furniture.

1959 saw the release of Yamaha's first electronic organ, the Electone. They continued to add new products to their line including brass and woodwind instruments, acoustic guitars and drums.

The 1980s brought two of their most popular products to light - the Clavinova line of digital pianos and the ground-breaking DX-7 digital synthesizer. Since then, Yamaha has established itself as a leader in the electronic keyboard field. The company also produces a full-line of live sound gear such as PA speakers, mixers and portable PA systems. Their line of studio monitors can be found in almost every major recording studio in the world. In the past few years, they have become recognized as one of the top manufacturer of electronic drum sets.
