Integrated seamlessly with my Cubase Pro 8.5. Layout is hightly intuitive and keys are responsive, yet not overly so. Screen is bright and pressure sensitive that is customizable. Although my 76 key version is a bit heavy with my Gator case, it is not a show stopper by any means. Solid state through and through. An amazing instrument and a worthy successor to the Motif line.
The Yamaha Montage Synth is a powerful & versatile workstation. It can be used equally as well in the studio & on stage. It has 88 fully weight keys. Is MIDI capable. And has a USB connection.
Yamaha is a juggernaut in the keyboard/synth world and this year they unveiled their new beast, The Montage. The new sound engine, Motion Control Synthesizer Engine, gives you the best of both the Motif and 80's classic synth engines. You have an endless amount of option with this synth. A must have.
The Yamaha Montage is a fully fledged monster of a synthesizer. It boasts a ton of features from the old models and revamps them with some new features exclusive to the Montage. You can dial in almost any sound your heart desires with this thing and it's compatible with any DAW or interface you may have. Yamaha consistently makes great products and this is a great choice for producers, artists or DJs to add a little spice to their repertoire.
This is one of the best in its class. It sounds fantastic and is fun and easy to use. I can't wait to get one myself!
The Montage is the keyboard to create the sound of your dreams. The controls really allow you to create that specific sound you're looking for. My favorite part of this keyboard is its compatibility. It has midi (in, out, and thru), USB to keyboard, USB to your computer, multiple outputs, multiple footswitches, inputs, and of course headphones.
It's hard not to love this keyboard workstation. I remember when I first sat down to play the Montage, I was blown away by the complexity of the sounds and general organized layout of the keyboard's workspace. Personally, I never could agree to the light-weight keys of most keyboards, but this workstation has proven me wrong as my focus on how the keys felt was taken away once I started diving deeper into the abilities of the instrument. Perfect for those looking to ditch their computers for live shows (as the sound customization is all right there) or even just make it an incredible addition to their rig.
I recently had the chance to tink with one of these at a different store and it reminded me of a hybrid between the MOTIF and DX boards. The touchscreen allows you easy access to any parameters or sounds you wish. The Super Knob is crazy and Create dynamic sound changes from radical to sublime with the Super Knob. The Super Knob can control multiple parameters simultaneously, change your listening position or change the character of a Performance. It can even be assigned to a second FC7 foot controller to manipulate the sound when playing with both hands. You can use the Motif library or something like the DX libraries to get those 80's or EDM sounds as well.
This keyboard is ultra-lightweight, packed with beautiful sounds from the Motif, it also has DAW remote features which works perfectly with software like Cubase or almost any other DAW. If you are looking for a great keyboard and cannot afford the Motif, please give any of the MOXF keyboards a chance. It is jam-packed with advanced features such as; two sound engines, the "Super Knob" control which allows dynamic range change to be super simple. My favorite part is the quality and quantity of sounds and tones that come standard, theyre awesome.
