Play, Listen… Be Inspired
Playing guitar in a great-sounding room is the most inspiring, engaging playing experience imaginable – far more enjoyable than in a dry-sounding room like a lounge, office or den. Yamaha's TransAcoustic Guitar recreates the incredible experience of playing in a rich, live room without needing any external amplification or effects – just the guitar itself. Whether you're practicing, writing, recording or just playing for fun, the TransAcoustic Guitar will make you play better, longer and with more creativity. Once you've experienced it, you'll never want to play another acoustic guitar again. It's the most inspiring, engaging acoustic guitar you've ever played.

  • Amazing sounding reverb/chorus built-into the guitar with no need for external amplification or effects
  • Designed to provide superb acoustic guitar sound
  • High comfortable playability
  • Made in Yamaha quality

An actuator installed on the inner surface of the guitar back vibrates in response to the vibrations of the strings. The vibrations of the actuator are then conveyed to the body of the guitar, and to the air in and around the guitar body, generating authentic reverb and chorus sounds from inside the body.

Simple Controls
Three simple knobs let you adjust the degree of effect applied and the lineout volume level. Additionally, keeping the controls small minimizes the area of the holes in the body material, reducing acoustic sound loss. (A) Chorus Control (B) Reverb Control (Room / Hall) (C) TA Switch / Line Out Volume Control * Pressing the TA Switch for more than 0.3 seconds activates the TA function. * When a cable is connected to the line-out jack, the lineout volume can be adjusted by rotating the (C) knob. * The reverb type switches from Room to Hall around the 12:00 position.

Designed to Provide Superb Acoustic Guitar Sound
The body is an all-solid guitar based on the L-series. A modified non-scalloped bracing design retains the L series' characteristic bright tone while enhancing the low end. Treating the tops with Yamaha's exclusive A.R.E. process gives the instrument a rich, vintage quality tone, making it sound as though you'd been playing it for years, from the very first moment you pick it up. The fact that this guitar has been designed with an insistence on sound quality is what allows it to produce effected sounds that feels pure and natural.

High Comfortable Playbility
Straighter neck taper and hand-rolled fingerboard edges result in an instrument that can be played for hours without any stress. The 5-ply neck design featured in all TransAcoustic Guitars is constructed of rosewood and mahogany plies with a double-action adjustable rod, creating a strong, stable neck that resists warping.

Newly Designed Battery Box
Battery box integrated into the end-pin jack. This requires fewer holes in the body, thus reducing acoustic sound loss. Connect the cable from the jack to a PA or amp to use as an acoustic electric guitar.

Other premium features include Yamaha's Original Jumbo body (slightly smaller than "LL") made from solid rosewood back & sides and a solid Engelmann spruce A.R.E.-treated top, a superbly playable matte-finished 5pc. mahogany/rosewood neck with a smooth-playing ebony fingerboard, die-cast gold tuners, maple/black bindings, an abalone/black/white rosette, and a full gloss body finish with your choice of a Vintage Tint or Brown Sunburst top. Includes hard bag.

Inspires me to play more

Love the guitar! Great sounding solid acoustic guitar stand alone from the electronic component, however with the addition of the reverb and chorus it brings it to another level of sound.

Awesome guitar

This is a great guitar. The build quality is excellent. It sound is awesome. Even without the effects this is a really nice sounding guitar. I have a Collings and a Huss and Dalton for comparison and this Yamaha holds it own against much more expensive instruments. Being able to add the reverb and chorus really takes it to another level. I carefully examined the wood on the sides and back, and they are perfectly matched. It is very easy to play, particularly because the neck is a matte finish. I have used it to record a couple of tracks using the di and it records great. Totally worth the money. Really, it's a bargain for the quality.

Great Guitar from a great supplier!

Could not be happier with the purchase. Yamaha continues to deliver the best bang for the buck out there. The LS-TA is worth twice the price without the Transacoustic feature.... that just adds to the fun. Got an open box/return from Samash and saved a bundle. Guitar looks and plays like brand new! Couldn't tell if it had even been played.

I would definitely buy from Sam Ash again

I am an acoustics by Profession. Recently i purchased a Yamaha LS-TA VT from Sam Ash in Houston. After much research i decided this particular model was not only better than most Martins and Taylors in the same segment but also at the similar price point. You would easily spend double to find a all solid wood guitar with Engleman spruce top, solid build quality & impeccable craftsmanship. People tend to forget that the key ingredient in a good acoustic guitar is intonation and complete body resonance of the guitar. In order for your strings to sound right when they are tuned, the guitar itself must be in tune and able to project all its harmonics efficiently. The Yamaha TQM and solid build quality ensure that. I read many reviews where other customers said "you will not regret getting this guitar" and boy were they right. Besides the great features and electronics (which can be quiet addictive no doubt) the guitar itself is well made and ready to play out of the box. I would describe the sound of the guitar as "Harmonically in tune and perfect for a studio recording. My entire purchase was made from outside the country and my only interaction with the store itself was when i came to collect it at the store. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful online as well as at the store. I must say they did go out of their way for a customer. Thanks Jeff and Bill for the prompt and friendly service. I would recommend THIS guitar to anyone who is looking to buy a good acoustic guitar. Or just to try it out before you buy another. Thanks SamAsh'

Makes guitar fun again

This is an easy playing and great sounding guitar. I bought one of these a month ago and find myself picking it up more than any of my other guitars. The electronically boosted chorus and reverb sound great. The guitar also sounds very good without the electronics turned on. The neck is comfortable for my large fingers. A friend of mine that busks fell in love with it when he played it the first time.
