Great tone. Hard to believe it sounds this good for such an affordable price. Easy to play (OK mid-low action out of the box), well appointed, and, did I mention the tone? For its price it has solid bass, good high-end definition. Intonation was nearly perfect all frets 1-12 all strings.

Sounds good, plays good, looks good, perfect intonation, stays in tune. Unless you're a famous musician I really can't imagine why anyone would pay thousands of dollars for an acoustic guitar. This guitar is going to last a long time. If I break it or lose it, no big deal. One or two gigs will pay for another one.

The yamaha fg830 is a great acoustic for anyone starting out. The solid spruce top allows for a very open, warm sound. Great build and solid neck that sounds great right from the box. Rosewood back and sides give the guitar a nice balance to the spruce top. Binding on the guitar adds a nice aesthetic to the guitar.
