Fantastic guitar for the money

5

Awesome guitar! Traded one of my electrics in and this was there so I used the money towards it and I couldn't be happier with it. It sounds awesome, full size body, quality parts, just an awesome guitar that I'm not afraid to take anywhere. If you're looking for a budget guitar, I wouldn't pay less than this, it's the first step into good sounding instruments.

Yamaha FG800 best buy 4 the buck

4

Bought FG800 to go where I would be worried about my Taylor 810. After swapping the plastic lower bridge for a denser bone bridge, and also having the repair expert tweak the top bridge with his files to lower the action, it plays almost as easily as my Taylor, and a lot less weight, due to no mics and pickups inside. I've put $200 Yamahas up against several $1000 plus guitars of other brands, and the Yamaha had better sustain, volume and clarity. I'd give it 5 stars, but it's not a $4000 guitar like my Taylor, with the fancy woods, but for the price, you're not going to get a better guitar.

Entry Level Awesome

5

When you think of starter guitar, does Yamaha come to mind? Well it should, because Yamaha consistency raises the bar on what to expect at low price points. And we're not talking about a low quality brand here, either. No, this FG800, though entry level, will give you a great look on what to expect at higher priced guitars. That tone is so balanced and maybe on the warm side, as most Yamaha bodies exhibit. The finish looks super nice too! Just don't be disappointed if you find that other guitars can't beat this one! Just get it properly set up and you'll have a great learning experience!

Great choice for beginning players

4

Great looking and playing guitar. A great choice for any student or even as a back up acoustic for an experienced player. The Nato back and sides look great and tone wise, are very similar to mahogany. Great price for a great acoustic.

The Yamaha FG800 is great for anyone looking to start out on the guitar. Solid top allows for great sound and sustain. Sturdy build and plays great right out of the box. Great guitar for anyone.
