Amazing alternative to individual mics!
Amazing alternative to individual mics! It picks up the whole kit evenly. This is perfect for recording without the hassle of running so many mics. I highly recommend!

First, let me say, I am pro anything with the Yamaha name on it. This thing is fun to use. I set it up on my recording customs and have been having a blast. To be honest I am still figuring out everything I can do with it, but the built in drums sound it offers are great. This is the second one I bought. ( I had another one which I gave to a friend as a gift )

This little gadget will change the game for anybody living in apartments that need low volume playing. Plug and play and the sounds is amazing. I have this in combination with remos silentstroke and Zildjian low volume cymbals. AMAZING!

So I have a 6 pc kit with offset rack toms. I cannot attach the mic to the bass rim and when placed in the suggested location, I can't hear my 1st rack nor my 2nd floor. I can barely hear the bass drum. You are forced to trigger your kick drum and the internal trigger isn't the best. I have purchased a Sabian 3 pc drum mixer to pick up the slack. Let's see if that works. :(

This device is the answer to a lot of problems in the home recording world. Most of us don't have the money to invest in all the things needed to simply record our drums or rehearse with music at home...as well as upload quality videos to social media. While it is best suited for a 4 piece acoustic drum kit, the addition of trigger inputs and parameter adjustments can get you covered in most situations. I have already recorded and uploaded a few videos using the free Rec & Share app, and the results are almost too good to be true. This is also a great tool for rehearsing to or just playing along with songs. It amplifies the track to a reasonable level, and allows you to mix in YOUR drums while playing. It allows you to be more "in" the music you're playing. If you're interested in recording drums at home, but are not yet well versed in DAWs and mic'ing techniques...this is the product you should be looking at.
