Really not sure opened it up and thought it was to light for my playing style so I brought it back and went a different direction

This set is a godsend for the gigging drummer who wants/ needs to travel light. Believe the hype and don't hesitate to buy! It will save your back and shoulders if you haul your own equipment. As an added bonus the included carrying bag is roomy enough for extra equipment. I was able to include another single braced straight stand, collapsible music stand, the base to my lightweight drum throne AND my bass drum pedal (collapsed)! It makes the bag heavier of course but still perfectly manageable. I will be grabbing another one or two cymbal stands soon.

Best idea ever for a gigging drummer: light weight and sturdy. My back will thank them again! This concept should be universal.

Most awesome lightweight, durable, compact and secure stands I've ever had! A universal drum throne that could fit different seats would blow my mind! That being said. I love these stands.

These stands are designed for the drummer who works a lot, carries his own equipment, and plays in limited space situations - in other words, like most of us! They are light weight yet sturdy and very well built. My hardware case went from 68 lbs. with my mid-weight steel stands to 38 lbs. with these. That might not sound like that much, but you really notice the difference at the end of the night! With reasonable care, I expect these to last quite a while. Keep in mind, though, they don't offer a boom cymbal stand for a reason, and you don't want to hang a rack tom off of one of these, either. It's a trade-off, but it's worth it, and, as long as you're not an extremely hard player, you'll really appreciatethe weight savings these offer.

The Yamaha Crosstown series hardware is great for those looking to "lighten their load". I originally was bummed there wasn't a boom stand but in reality if you are using it the way it is intended you don't need one. If for some reason you just have to have one you can easily add a boom arm such as the CH-755W. Highly recommended!
