Featuring Yamaha Proprietary Trans Acoustic technology with built-in Hall Reverb, Room Reverb, and Chorus, a System 70 TransAcoustic + SRT Piezo pickup, and a solid Engelmann spruce top, the the rich tone and inspiring effects of this guitar will capture everyone's attention wherever you're playing.

Yamaha Proprietary Trans Acoustic Technology with Built-In Hall Reverb, Room Reverb, and Chorus
An actuator installed on the inner surface of the guitar back vibrates in response to the vibrations of the strings. The vibrations of the actuator are then conveyed to the body of the guitar, and to the air in and around the guitar body, generating authentic reverb and chorus sounds from inside the body.

System 70 TransAcoustic + SRT Piezo Pickup
Three simple knobs let you adjust the degree of effect applied and the line out volume level. Additionally, keeping the controls small minimizes the area of the holes in the body material, reducing acoustic sound loss. Included is a Chorus Control, Reverb Control (Room / Hall), and TA Switch / Line Out Volume Control.

* Pressing the TA Switch for more than 0.3 seconds activates the TA function.
* When a cable is connected to the line-out jack, the line out volume can be adjusted by rotating the TA Switch / Line Out Volume Control knob.
* The reverb type switches from Room to Hall around the 12:00 position.

Solid Engelmann Spruce Top
Engelmann spruce, which also grows in western North America, is a common alternative to Sitka. Because it is in lesser supply than Sitka, Engelmann often costs more. It's a lighter and less stiff variety than Sitka, and it has stronger overtones and weaker fundamentals. An Engelmann top typically has less headroom than one made from Sitka, and its sound can suffer a little when played loudly. "Engelmann is a good choice for players who want a more complex sound when playing softly," says Bourgeois. Adding that European spruce shares characteristics with Engelmann, but has more headroom, making it ideal for players with a stronger attack.

An awesome classical Nylon guitar!

Let me tell y'all what it is! Lol. I am really into this classical nylon guitar; it is the best nylon guitar I've had in years. Over 20 years ago, I had bought a nylon guitar in Mexico. It was totaled, eventually. But, I've been meaning to get a classic Spanish nylon ever since. This particular model was a gift from my beautiful soon-to-be-wifey! She hit the nail on the head with this axe (she too is a musician). This model, I am really interested in pima, finger style and Huapango, and other Latin variations. My fingers have missed this kind of a fretboard; since I am used to my electric guitars (Ibanez, PRS, Epi.) A most excellent purchase, I strongly recommend it. I love the wood on it. Lol. December 2020.

Yes yes yes

Utterly fantastic, wildly entertaining and fun to play. Proprietary to Yamaha. Nothing like it. Beats tonewood amp hands down.

Was a greate suprise

I was looking for additional classical guitar to compliment my Cordoba C5 , something with a spruce top for a change of pace. So i figured another Cordoba maybe a C7 - C10. Well as other people have stated, there is not alot of choices. But there was a C10 and then this Yamaha CG-TA. Well both had a spruce top so I zoomed in on those two. Much to my suprise I liked the sound of the Yamaha better (I did not know about the TA system yet. So I found my spruce top , I'm a happy camper. But the the sales guy shows me the TA system.... ok that sold it. Not only does this sound good with out the amplification, but its great with it....... my wifes says 'Boys and their toys'

I bought the guitar as a birthday gift for my son. The day(s) I went in to shop, the inventory of acoustic guitars in my price range was low--there appeared to be only two guitars acoustic guitars on display that were within my range. I asked the attendant if there were any more guitars in the back or in the warehouse, I was told there wasn't. I went ahead and purchased the guitar. I was a bit disappointed in the selection available at the time--perhaps because of COVID-19, it just seemed like customer service was a bit off and inventory was depleted.

Great Purchase! Love the way it sounds.

I use this guitar daily and I can't wait to get better at playing guitar. Although I wish I had bought an electric guitar since I am a beginner this is an awesome.

Awesome guitar

Lovely guitar. Sounds awesome And plays great. Perfect for a beginner

Yamaha CG-TA (Classical TransAcoustic)

This Yamaha CG-TA classical guitar with the Transacoustic system plays and sounds great. Then you turn on the TA system, dial up some reverb and/or chorus and the sound is just mesmerizing and inspiring. The Sam Ash team is always so great to work with, setting up the guitar and making every purchase a wonderful experience.

Great Guitar - Great Deal

Guitar was purchased as a previously returned item but promised to come with all original packaging and paperwork. Guitar arrived earlier than promised in Mint condition with all paperwork. This guitar has amazing reverb and chorus effects without being plugged in. Love it!
