The Yamaha APXT2 is a sleek 3/4 size version of Yamaha's best-selling APX500II. This fun, yet well-constructed compact guitar is perfect for travel, practice, busking and even gigging.

Packed with features, the Yamaha APXT2 includes Yamaha’s proprietary Acoustic Resonance Transducer (A.R.T.) System68 pickup system with built-in tuner, Spruce top, Meranti back and sides, Mahogany neck and a Rosewood fingerboard and bridge. It also comes with a sturdy, padded gig bag.

The System68 A. R. T. includes a one-way active preamp and transducer contact pickup system that features mid-boost EQ for tone shaping and a precision chromatic tuner. The transducer system delivers a natural acoustic tone by dampening excessive vibration from the soundboard while picking up small resonances to achieve ideal sensitivity and outstanding dynamic balance.

And what travel guitar would be complete without a gig bag included? The Yamaha APXT2 includes a proprietary gig bag that ensures that it will be able to accompany you on the beach, around campfires or anywhere else your journeys may bring you.

Craftsmanship is great, playability is great, only reason for 4 instead of 5, is the guitar doesn't sound that good if not plugged in. Once plugged in, it is awesome. Also a little too small for the adult but still playable.

Great for a cheap, small travel guitar!

For what it is - a very cheap, small, travel guitar, this is great. You'll need a strap as it doesn't sit high enough on your leg to be comfortable to play. Also - the action was high, but a bit of adjusting with a belt sander on the saddle and that came down well. The scale length is short, but plays OK - takes a bit of getting used to from my full-sized acoustics. Putting a capo on it and making chords further up the neck is tight, but OK. Sound is very good for a travel guitar of this size. This would be a great kids guitar or even for an adult beginner. I did put 11s on it - sounds a bit weaker, but is fine, and that's what I use on my other acoustics. I had a washburn rover before - this is better, though not as small, but worth the extra size, I think. I have a GS Mini, which is much better, but a good bit larger, and much more expensive. Tuner works good, haven't tried plugging it in yet. Bought this for the boat - seems pretty sturdy.

I would buy this product again.

This little guitar is exactly what I was looking for. Small but not a kids neck on it...so I am using it for road travel for song writing. I am totally pleased. dw

Very nice but not perfect

Not sure why this is called a 3/4 size guitar, it seems smaller to me. I would call it a parlor. It is roughly the size of a Baby Taylor, which is what I wanted. I also wanted a cutaway, which is rare for parlor guitars, and a built in tuner and preamp. This is one of the few guitars that meets all those requirements. As a Yamaha, it is a quality product. Action is a little too high and cannot be reduced sufficiently by truss rod adjustment. I will have to file the saddle a bit, though it is usable as is. No complaints, really.

Best Travel Guitar Ever

I love this guitar--it's adorable and I can play it for hours without my fingers hurting. Great set up from Sam Ash--nice action and intonation. And the build-in tuner and pickup are both excellent. Shipped fast--and a great price, too.

Super fun little guitar!

What a fun guitar...I have really had a hard time putting it down! Plays great right out of the box. Bought mine to have a travel guitar and it meets my needs perfectly. I recommend a better gig bag as the one included lacks padding. Shipping was quick and everything arrived in perfect condition. Thanks Sam Ash.
