Very good product & great price!
I love this guitar--it's adorable and I can play it for hours without my fingers hurting. Great set up from Sam Ash--nice action and intonation. And the build-in tuner and pickup are both excellent. Shipped fast--and a great price, too.
What a fun guitar...I have really had a hard time putting it down! Plays great right out of the box. Bought mine to have a travel guitar and it meets my needs perfectly. I recommend a better gig bag as the one included lacks padding. Shipping was quick and everything arrived in perfect condition. Thanks Sam Ash.
Wonderful guitar and wonderful service
Great size, nice sound. However, it is heaver than expected - the neck is heavy - and the action is high. Strings that come with it are too thick for beginners. I bought it because I have and like its big sister, Yamaha thinline APX500ii and wanted to try it with certain students ( < 5' tall adults and adults in wheelchairs). I will try to update this review when I've used the guitar for awhile.
Poor quality finish. Poor sound. Returned it next day and purchased a better Yamaha model.
This is my 2nd APXT2. The first one I loved, but was a "hero" to a friend and sold it to them not realizing how I'd miss it. I have the guitar tuned A to A using a set of D'Addario Acoustic Guitar 80/20 Environmental X Lite, .010 - .047, EJ10 "moved back" one string position, and with a .007 as the high A string, and the low .047 string unused. It sounds mighty sweet in this configuration! I bought this as a "USED" instrument from Sam Ash on eBay, but if it was ever "used" in any way, It was in no way obvious to me! This came boxed with gig bag and all factory paperwork. The guitar is vwery well-made and is a product of Yamaha's Indonesian works. I have no complaint about the craftsmanship. As far as I can see it is flawless. The handy internal tuner and pickup electronics work perfectly. I had this guitar out recently at a jam, and it got a lot of positive comments, plus a couple purchase offers. This is one of many quality guitars I own including 3 Martins, 2 Cox Customs, 3 Brazilian Gianninis, and an Eastman, and it's the one in a stand beside my recliner for instant use.
Great travel guitar. Love the size and slick feel. Sounds fine when you plug it in and it runs on 2 AA batteries. Not much not to like. The case is very minimal. I suggest buying a Baby Taylor gig bag on eBay. Fits perfect and much more padding.
Perfect size for my 9 year old to learn on and was impressed with the quality. The sound is nice for the size. It is also a nice size for camping or traveling. I like the convenience of the built in tuner but it has a very narrow flat/sharp range. I haven't played it through an amp yet so I can't comment on those aspects. Those with wider fingers or large hands may find it difficult to play in the open position due to the 3/4 size and the slightly narrower neck, but it should fit the majority. It has a very nice fit and finish to it with a matte/ satin finish. The setup and action is good and it holds its tune well. I'm very pleased with it in relation to the cost.
this out does my 3/4 Oscar Schmidt! Body is narrower than most acoustics, which makes it a lot easier to play. I run mine thru a Fender Acoustasonic amp and the sound is absolutely beautiful. This is also a good choice if you have a child who wants to play. Built in tuner is a wonderful thing to have. Lightweight and easy to tote around- even if you have to use a cane on occasion. So whether you have small hands, are petite, want a guitar that travels easy,or as a gift to a child, this is the one for you!
