The Yamaha A-Series: The Next Level
Designed to be the ideal performance acoustic guitar, the Yamaha A-Series is crafted from the ground up to be perfectly suited to life on the road. With natural, dynamic plugged-in tone and stage-ready simplicity; played-in comfort out of the box thanks to hand-rolled fingerboard edges on a straight taper neck; a custom designed scalloped bracing pattern for a powerful, expressive acoustic tone and Yamaha's legendary road-ready construction to make sure it's ready when you are, night after night, the A-Series is the perfect guitar to take your playing to the next level.

Powerful Acoustic Sound
A new sound has been developed for the A-series that is louder and stronger in the low-mid ranges, thanks to cutting-edge acoustic analysis technology developed by the Yamaha R&D Division. Their analysis led to the development of the updated scalloped bracing for the top board and shorter bracing than normal for the back board. Also, treating the tops with Yamaha's exclusive A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) process gives the instrument a rich, vintage quality tone, making it sound as though you'd been playing it for years from the very first moment you pick an A-series guitar up.

High Comfort Neck Profile
Extensive research with players, luthiers and guitar techs has given A-Series the feel and playability that today's acoustic-electric players want, whether switching from electric to acoustic on-stage, recording a session with intricate open tunings, or practicing at home. These superb guitars feature a straighter neck taper for easier high-fret playing, and hand-rolled fingerboard edges to achieve a played-in feel.

Simple and Distinctive Looks
The simple, organic design features wood binding and other techniques that capture the warmth of wood. The distinctive shape of the pick guard, which stands out when performing, is a revival of the N1000 guitar that Yamaha released in 1975.

Elixir Strings
A-series guitars are equipped with Elixir NANOWEB 80/20 Bronze Light strings to deliver a lively tone together with extended tone life that players have come to expect from Elixir Strings.

Yamaha does it again

I have a few friends with vintage Yamaha acoustics and they are some of the nicest sounding guitars at any price point as they have aged quite gracefully. So some reasons I love this particular Yamaha: it's got a comfortable concert size body and neck and the sound is rich and toneful. Typically I think of a concert body as a great fingerstyle or recording guitar due to the balanced and mellower nature paired with a remarkable dynamic range. This guitar could easily handle strumming or fingerpicking. The updated bracing really does seem to help this guitar open up and project. The neck is incredibly comfortable likely due to the rolled edges and the cutaway design makes it easy to access the upper registers. The combination of a solid Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides is a tried and true tonewood combination for acoustic guitars and since the top is solid the more the guitar gets played and ages the better it will sound. Yamaha shipped it with Elixir strings, TUSQ nut and saddle which also add up to great tone and easy playability. Built in electronics means you're ready to gig with it. For me this guitar played about perfect straight out of the box but as always every player is different and I'd always suggest a setup to get it right for your playing style and tonal preferences. Routine setups are typically a must for an acoustic guitar as they are most susceptible to the elements. Be sure to get a case, hydrometer and humidifier to protect your investment. If you're in the market for a reasonably priced acoustic guitar that plays great and packs a ton of tone definitely check out the Yamaha A series.

This guitar is perfect for small, intimate settings, but with the built-in electronics, it can plug into any sound system or acoustic amp so it can be amplified. Great Yamaha Acoustic!

Yamaha has always been a big name in acoustic guitars. Both of my parents had them in the 70s. It is nice to know they still make a quality instrument. This one even has electronics which is great at this price point. Go try one of these today, you won't be disappointed.
