Exceptional Guild tone & quality without breaking the bank

I've been playing professionally for 60 years and always wanted a Guild 12 string acoustic. The price was always out of my range so I settled for an Ibanez. That has all changed now that Guild is producing the Westerly collection F-2512E. As soon as I picked it up and strummed it at my local Sam Ash store, I was amazed at the tone both plugged and unplugged, the good action, the quality of construction and especially the narrow fretboard providing ease in fingering. This guitar is simply wonderful at a reasonable price. I could not find one flaw in fit, finish and fret wires. I love this guitar and it is a great addition to my collection of Gibsons, Fenders, Rickenbackers and Gretsch. You'll sound like John Denver. Just buy it. You won't be sorry!!

Best 12-String Guitar Value Around!

I purchased a new Guild F-2512E at the Sam Ash Store in Raleigh, NC 10 months ago. Great price, excellent value. Only complaints were the rough fret edges and the guitar's tendency to feedback at moderate to higher amp volumes. Some light filing fixed the rough frets and I bought a TC Electronics BodyRez pedal to help reduce feedback while enhancing the guitar's tonal range. The action is very good without needing any setup. The gig bag provides adequate protection. I tried the more expensive acoustic-electric 12 string guitars by Taylor, Martin, Yamaha, & Gretsch, but I was most impressed with the Guild. I plan to upgrade to the F-1512E at some point.

The only thing cheap about this guitar is its price...

I never thought I'd own a Guild, until now. I got a sensational deal, and couldn't say "no." Took delivery form FedEx, an day earlier than expected. Only issue, was a pin-sized flaw on the front edge of the body binding. Didn't take all that long to tune it up (I like playing 12-strings tuned to a "D' scale, and use a capo where needed). It has a very full-bodied sound; since I never had an acoustic guitar with a piezo transducer, I was awe-struck when I played it through my Vox (original series, Valvetronix) amp. Whatever shortcomings this guitar may have played "unplugged," piping though an amp takes care of that. Action is great. It's been years since I had a 12-string, and this Guild made me realize how much I missed in not having one. It is flat out, plain and simple, such a joy to play, and easier than one may realize how infatuating the sound and tonal qualities of this guitar can be, "unplugged," or not. I only hope that it ages as well as the more expensive Guild's. I expect to get many years of enjoyment out of owning and playing this wonderful guitar. It may be an "entry-level" model; but, it's STILL a Guild!

We all want top tier guitars, but not all of us can afford to burn a hole in our pockets. Here comes Guild, with top tier quality at a mid tier price. The playability and feel is sublime, and the ring of the sound fills up space so fast that you might be floored upon contact! Oh, how sweet 12 strings sound. Just try a chord, and feel that shimmer. Guild has given us reachable beauty!

Beautiful sound

Guild has always been known for their sound and to get one in this price range is great. The maple body give you a nice bright, crisp sound that cuts through any band or recording. Jumbo body really rounds out the sound and opens it up a lot. Perfect for any collection.

Incredible guitar for the price

This is a wonderful guitar. I couldn't believe I could get a new 12 string this good for the price - even includes a bag. I like the simplicity of the appearance - the electronic controls and jack are concealed inside the sound hole and strap button. I find the tone very balanced and refined. There is a lot of open space in the sound. It doesn't have the deepest lows around, but I don't want a bass heavy guitar. I was surprised that there was not more bass from this large a body. The action was good right off the bat. It is very light weight - almost makes me nervous that it is fragile, but it is well put together. Disclaimer - I get a free capo for writing a review :)
