This is a great solid state amp that has a tube sound.

I have owned my TB 201 for about 4 months. I run a 2x12 cab with Eminence Patriot Red, White and Blues speakers. My pedal board is a Visual Sound Volume Pedal -> MXR 6 band EQ -> CMAT MODS Signa Compressor -> Amp 11 Drive -> Hall Of Fame Reverb -> into the front of the amp. I am so happy with this amp. I bought this amp because at the time I could not afford a Twin Reverb and I needed something with some clean volume. I read reviews and watched YouTube and found this to be the most bang for the buck. Now I am thinking about buying another one for a back up and forgetting about getting a Twin. This is built solid and I doubt I will need a backup but I like to be prepared. I have ran it pretty hard for 4 months without any problems. This is a solid state amp and it needs to be treated like one. I NEVER let my pedals boost the front end of the amp. I think that is crucial to getting the most out of this amp. The controls are really useful even though there are only a few. You get a wide range of tones. I use my pedals to dial it in the rest of the way. It takes pedals really well too. I had questions and Pat Quilter got back to me quickly and was very helpful. I have owned SS amps and tube amps and I believe this is the best solid state amp I have played.

Overall I could not be more pleased with this amp. Like many other pieces of equipment it is all in the way you use it. My goal was to use this as a power amp with the tone of a tube amp. Mission accomplished! This amp rocks. Because it can push 200 watts you will have more than enough headroom for your sound. I use this with a Boss GT 100 for my sounds. This is my main gigging set up. The amp itself works great with external effects. I would say the effects are essential to getting the sound you want. Whether you have a classic distortion or a nice clean chorus/delay this amp will not disappoint. The sounds is crystal clear. I was surprised by how good the amp sounded on it's own. Then add the desired effects and it is a great amp set-up for gigging. Give it a try! You won't be disappointed.

It's ridiculous how good this amp sounds. Crystal clean tones, all the power u need, and accepts pedals perfectly. I use this in my studio with pedals or for all my clean tone needs.
