The back and sides of the 214ce-SB-DLX Sunburst Deluxe Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar are crafted from layered Indian rosewood and paired with a tobacco sunburst finished solid Sitka spruce soundboard, just as the standard 214ce-SB, but features a full-gloss body and a matching inner veneer  to cater to this guitar's upscale appearance (the standard 214ce-SB has a satin finished back/gloss top). Tonally, layered rosewood and Sitka spruce give the 214ce-SB-DLX it's clear, well-balanced tonality across the entire spectrum, and whether you're strumming chords or playing a nice fingerstyle arrangement, the Grand Auditorium body is sure to deliver. The Grand Auditorium body shares the same length, width and depth as the dreadnought body, but has a smaller waist. These refined proportions give the GA it's unique acoustic voice while making it the most musically versatile of all the Taylor shapes, perfect for any musical scenario you throw at it—whether your recording in the studio or on the stage, performing with a band or performing solo, the Grand Auditorium won't disappoint. On top of it all, the body of the 214ce-SB-DLX Deluxe features white binding and a smooth-lined venetian cutaway for enhanced accessibility to those higher frets. The sapele neck on the Taylor 214ce-SB-DLX is topped with an ebony fingerboard and features beautiful small diamond inlays as opposed to the dot inlays used on the standard 214ce-SB.

Typically, the 200 Series features the Taylor ES-T electronics, but the 214ce-SB-DLX comes fully equipped with the top-of-the-line Taylor Expression System 2 (ES2), generally reserved for the higher end Taylor models.

This attractive deluxe package is completed by a Taylor standard hardshell case (rather then the hardbag included with the standard 200 series acoustics) to provide this 214ce-SB-DLX with superior protection.

Great guitar for the price

I've always loved the way a Taylor plays, but I couldn't justify buying one because I had a low-end Martin DKX2 and I'm not a professional. Last year my daughter dropped my Martin and cracked the back straight up the middle. So, this was an opportunity to upgrade and am I glad I did. This guitar has a beautiful, warm tone and the action is perfect. I am also very impressed with the pickup, it is the best acoustic pickup on the market, I'd say. And, the finish is absolutely gorgeous. I mostly play for my and my families enjoyment. I do record occasionally. This guitar is exactly what I've wanted.

Beautiful Guitar

Great experience at Sam Ash

First Taylor guitar, very pleased

Action and volume are great!

Perfect acoustic guitar? I think maybe...

Wow, the 214 DLX is just absolutely amazing. My $1k Martin, although a very nice guitar, is no comparison to this Taylor. I'm not putting Martin down, just surprised that the Taylor is so much better sounding. And the electronics are truly phenomenal.

Great Taylor acoustic guitar!

This was another great guitar purchase at Sam Ash on Sunset in Los Angeles. Sean and Joe are the really great and helpful. Had shopped other Taylor's and Martin's but this guitar just hit all the right marks. It plays great, sounds great and looks amazing! Perfect action on the strings and comes with the Taylor hard shell case. Also has the es2 electronics which are great playing through an amp! You will be impressed.

The 214 gets a face lift!

The 214ce deluxe has a great new paint offering! The 3 color sunburst is gorgeous and has a glow that is spectacular. Same solid Sitka top, layered rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard and bridge and comes with the Taylor hardshell case! A must play! -this is a staff review by skern at Sam Ash 57

Excellent all around guitar

This is a well rounded guitar. Great for chord strumming and finger picking for a wide range of music. Very clean and big sound. Sounds great plugged in. The only minor issue is the very brite sound on the low end strings, which is typical of Taylor guitars (you should play one if you are not familiar with Taylor). It is noticeably easier to play than other guitars of it's class. In my search, I did not find a superior guitar without adding another thousand dollars in cost.

Sounds as Good as it Looks

If you were enamored with the Taylor 114CE, well here is a deluxe take on it. The layered Indian Rosewood and Sitka Spruce composition make for a tonally balanced guitar with that unmistakable Taylor sound signature. The cutaway has great form factor to reach those pesky upper frets that traditional dreadnoughts make a pain to play. The comfortable smaller waist als makes for improved playability. Look no further for premium acoustic guitar play.

Beautiful Guitar

Taylor, never failing to impress, has somehow found a way to improve the already fantastic 214. The addition of the ES2 offers an even wider range of tonal options than the electronics on the standard 214, and the new finish gives the guitar a flashy look without being gaudy. Still giving off the classic Taylor tone with a bright, yet warm sound, the 214 SB-DLX is another guitar to get excited about, great for students and experience players alike. This is a hands-on review from Anthony @ Sam Ash Torrance.

Amazing guitar

Taylor has always made quality guitars and the 214ce deluxe is a great guitar in their line up. Solid spruce tops adds great sound and amazing sustain to the guitar . The sunburst color really adds a nice aesthetic and change from the conventional wood color most acoustics have. The deluxe model also has the ES2 electronic system that is normally used on the american made models.
