I thought this unit was going to be the ultimate media recorder/player and it turned out to be more amazing than I thought with all kinds of cool features and adjustments, BUT, with one fatal, totally unnecessary flaw, and a few other minor flaws. The unit has a track limit per memory card of 999 tracks, which I have never seen before. With standard CD tracks to WAV files that is only about 40GB (MP3 would be far less). The rest of each 128GB card is wasted space. So a max for the unit is 999 tracks X 3 cards. Even if you only include the best of your collection, it is not enough. You'll either have to change cards often (takes a minute or two to initialize each time) or combine multiple tracks into one (using freac v127). Selecting a song to play is clunky requiring many button presses (unlike the SD-20M). To browse folders one must press and hold shift and press browse (pitch is the default function, it should be the other way). Then the selected folder must be set to current folder, way down the menu. I've never seen anything so crazy. Perhaps a programmers dream. The App is really cool but you can't select a song and play it. It only has track forward/reverse/ff/rev. The meters are super thin and close together on the very top of the screen. The SD-20M is much easier to play back but the arrow keys are tiny underneath the jog wheel. I would buy a broadcast unit but they only record BWF and take 32GB cards. I am truly baffled. I wonder if this can be fixed with a firmware update. What good is recording if you can't play it back? There are far more listeners than recorders. How about paying more attention to playback. Make a play only version of this unit or give the SD-20M larger buttons/screen. Not sure why it is so difficult to get this right.
