Did someone say Spruce?!

The Tama SLP line of snares are really fantastic! This drum is an 8 ply Spruce wood, which you usually see on Guitar tops. This drum has tube lugs, which gives it a different look than other snare drums. This drum is rich, powerful, and beefy. This drum has a die cast hoop. That helps with keeping the drum in tune and makes for great rim shots and rim knocks. The die cast hoops help with keeping the resonance at bay. The drum would be great for the beginner or the pro looking to try out a different wood for their snare. This is a product review by Rocky at Sam Ash Store #57-Indianapolis, IN

Spruce isn't just for guitar tops anymore TAMA DOES IT AGAIN

Tama has been a heavy hitter in drum making for decades. Their SLP lineup of snare drums is really cool as they "customize" each type of shell in the lineup by using different hardware to bring out the best qualities of each drum for specific applications, while still providing drummers with a great price tag. This particular snare drum is really cool as it features an 8 ply Spruce shell with a stunning wood grain finish complimented by chrome plated hardware. Tama decided to outfit this particular snare drum with 8 brass tube lugs and die cast hoops which focus the tone and give you well more fatness. But don't worry their is plenty of crack and sensitivity as the Spruce is highly musical and Tama installed their super sensitive Hi Carbon steel snare wires. So if you're looking for a snare drum that is visually stunning and is a workhorse for backbeat players in the studio or on stage then check out the Tama SLP Fat Spruce.

AMAZING SNARE

A very rich snappy sound paired with the beautiful wood grain finish all topped off with that SLP badge makes this one of the baddest snares on the market at this current moment. The spruce wood definitely produces a very rich and powerful sound that has an acoustic resonance like no other. Premium hardware keep everything together nice and tight and make tuning a breeze

This snare is beefy. It's got a super rich, super punchy crack that will cut through a mix, despite being a little deeper. Also, it's really durable. As someone who plays hard rock, and plays a lot, there's nothing worse than finding out the rim on your favorite snare is warped. These hoops are just as beefy as the snare sound, and they'll hold up to some serious pounding.

Great Snare!

This is a great snare drum for the price. The spruce has a great tone and resonance. These have that classic pop sound that you need to cut through a mix. Cosmetically it looks great and the finish really holds up over time. I would recommend one of these to any of my drummer friends.

BEST IN THE SLP LINE!

Tama has done it once again with another fantastic addition to the SLP line. Without even touching on the sound, this snare looks fantastic with the natural satin finish and always attractive die-cast hoops. Spruce was a great choice for this snare as it has a penetrating sound that resonates beautifully, whatever your tuning preference is. Dual strainers make this a dream to tune and all the hardware is smooth and expertly machined. All in all I give this snare two thumbs up and I recommend it to anyone that's looking for something different while still maintaining professional sound and quality.
