Throwing it back to one of the most notable decades in music history, this Classic Vibe '70s Stratocaster has a lot to offer. Featuring a solid Squier construction, vintage '70s style, and authentic Fender-designed Alnico pickups, this model is for any guitarist who wants a great vintage Strat at an awesome price.

Solid Squier Construction
The Strat has been a staple of the guitar world decade after decade. This particular model harks back to the style of the 1970s, while still maintaining the timeless Strat build under the hood. This Squier was designed by Fender and shaped from poplar into a classic Strat double cutaway design, and finished in gloss urethane. The 25.5" "C" shape neck is made from maple and is capped by a fretboard with 21 narrow tall frets and dot inlays.

Vintage '70s Style
To add that '70s flare, this guitar sports a number of great design choices and appointments. The oversized, 1970s headstock showcases period-inspired markings and vintage style tuners. The tuners, like the rest of the hardware, are nickel-plated. There's also a 6-saddle vintage-style synchronized tremolo bridge, a famous vintage Strat feature. Even the neck has a vintage-tinted gloss finish for more of that boisterous '70s vibe.

Authentic Fender-Designed Alnico Pickups
To make this Squier special, the Classic Vibe '70s Stratocaster HSS sports 3 Fender-designed Alnico pickups. There are single-coils at the neck and middle positions, with a nice humbucker at the bridge for when you want to crank it up. With five-way switching, you can find the best pickup combination for your style. Blues players may prefer the neck pickup while rockers may like the sound of the bridge humbucker with a little distortion. The best thing about the Strat is its versatility, and how you play it is up to you.

A decent place to start but need some work

first off, Sam ash was amazing getting me this guitar fast and at a low price – thank you. This is the first SquierI bought in a while that didn't immediately put a smile on my face. It's got decent basic tones but I think especially the middle pick up is going to need an upgrade. I'm pretty sure the nut is not cut correctly as the intonation is pretty screwed on the first few frets. It's pretty bad on the low strings that make it very difficult to play even if you set action low. other than that pretty classic Strat sounds, really nice humbucket sounds with overdrive and the neck pick up can be really warm with overdrive too. The tremolo stays in tune pretty decently for a non-locking system. it's a heavy guitar which I kind of like but it's just going to take some getting used to as I've been playing my Squier classic 50s vibe tele Which was pretty much a knock out right out of the box. I am used to the tele's slightly stiffer response so my fingers are getting used to the strat. I'd call it a seven out of 10 and some upgrades are definitely in order but I planned on that

Bad nut, some assembly issues

First off, one of the things you pay for is a bone nut. However on mine the nut was cut too low, so open strings sounded like a sitar. To pay a professional to replace the nut would cost a good chunk of change. Luckily I can do it myself. Also there were some issues with fit and finish. The free ends needed to be filled down and 3 of the screws that hold the pickguard in are in at an angle. I'm going to have to fill in the holes and do it right someday. I have much nicer guitars, I bought this one as a bedroom guitar but my advice to anyone more than a beginner; save the money you would have spent on a new not and fret dressing and buy a Mexican strat.

An excellent addition to the classic vibe series.

This guitar is a great value. The craftsmanship is excellent. The fit and finish is above what you would expect from an Asian import. Squier has really stepped up their game with this series. The neck feels great and the pickups are of decent quality. This guitar can do pretty much anything that I require in a strat. Is it the best? No, but it is a $350 guitar. Keep that in mind.
