I would give 3/12 stars, works great and sounds good too. I like the smaller neck and the visual aesthetic of the bass. I'm not sure if I am crazy about the pickups, and the strings that come with it are.....ok.

I purchased this bass sight unseen, not knowing what to expect. I cannot overstate how happy I am with the Mustang. This is my first purchase of a Squier instrument and frankly I thought the price left me with nothing to lose. It came out of the box with great low action and excellent "fit and finish" from the body to the headstock. I love the finished neck...the slight yellowish tints really kicks up the vintage vibe. I am lucky enough to own a few nice guitars, all american made Gibsons, Fenders, and a Martin HD28. I feel like I have a pretty good handle on what constitutes a good guitar and, for the money, the Squier Mustang simply can't be beat.

For the price this short scale bass can't be beet. I was easily able to set this bass up with very nice no buzz low action. Just a slight truss rod adjustment, added flatwound string and lowered the pickups for some seriously sswweeeet vintage tone.
