Keeping it jazzy since day one, the style of this classic Jazz Bass is a nod to the decade that saw its popularity soar. Featuring a classic Jazz Bass build, 1960s inspired appointments, and dual Fender-designed alnico pickups, this instrument is great for anyone looking for an affordable bass with vintage style.

Classic Jazz Bass Build
The Jazz Bass is amongst the most recognizable basses of all time. Coming of age in the 1960s, it established the low-end rhythm on many famous records. This excellent instrument has a body cut from poplar and is finished in gloss polyurethane. The neck is a beautiful maple cut into "C" shape and capped with an Indian laurel fretboard.

1960s Inspired Appointments
Inspired by one of the greatest decades in music, this '60s style Jazz Bass has a neck finished in tinted gloss urethane for extra vintage vibes. The fretboard sports 20 narrow tall frets and dot inlays with a bone nut. This Jazz Bass has a 4-saddle vintage-style bridge with threaded steel saddles, providing solid intonation and a simplistically cool aesthetic. To complete the vintage vibe, the headstock is stamped with period-correct markings, and showcases vintage-style tuning machines.

Dual Fender-Designed Alnico Pickups
For authentic Jazz Bass tone, this Squier model is outfitted with Fender-designed Jazz Bass pickups. The two single-coil alnico pickups afford a smooth low-end suitable for more than just jazz. They're adjusted by a volume control for each pickup and a master tone knob.

Very good

I'm so happy I decided to get this...highly recommend!!!

This bass is SO worth the money! It plays like a dream and a real value. I'd never had a Squier before, only Fenders, so was concerned how the quality would be. I really can't tell the difference...but then again I'm a beginning bass player, but have played guitar for decades. I'm so happy I decided to get this...highly recommend!!!

I'm a career musician, mainly keys and guitars, but once in a while, the need to play bass arises. I might be asked to fill in at a church or I might be recording something simple enough for me to render a decent part and move on. Recently, the need for a good bass arose, and I did some shopping. The Classic Vibe Jazz Bass was so affordable through Sam Ash that I really couldn't resist. And given the fact that it's not my main axe, the money (under $300!) was justifiable. The day after I bought the bass, I used it on a recording session with a famous Nashville singer. We were trying to get basic demos done without a band, and she insisted I record with the Jazz Bass. I hadn't had a chance to get it set up or anything, but wow- the INTONATION WAS GREAT! I know the Classic Vibe uses less expensive parts, but the PICKUPS SOUNDED GREAT in the track, and the NECK WAS EASY TO PLAY! I also have a Classic Vibe Telecaster that I play regularly with Red Dirt Boys, Emmylou Harris' backing band. CLASSIC VIBE FENDERS ARE FANTASTIC FOR THE MONEY! I can't say enough good about the Jazz Bass!!

Best entry level jazz bass!

A great classic bass.

So Awesome I Even Bought Another One in a Different Color!

Obnoxiously cool bass for the money. Looks great; sounds great; complements on both wherever I go. Well done, Fender/Squier!

Great value for your money

This is a real value for your money. I mostly play guitar, but would like to have a bass for some fun recording. This is very well built and has an awesome sound.

Fantastic instrument

I've been playing a long time but I have not had many instruments, but this is a fantastic bass. I can't really say enough good about. Gorgeous, excellent finish, no flaws anywhere. Neck feels great, of course not for those who like big chunky necks. Pickups don't have huge output, but they sound very good, much better than my early '80's American made Jazz. Perfectly balanced. Balance between the pickups is fun to fiddle with. Really great instrument.
