Best guitar to learn how to play and hone your tech skills!

This has been the perfect guitar to learn on and allow me to practice my guitar tech skills with little to no pressure. The low price and decent body/neck materials make it the perfect project guitar.

Solid guitar for the price!

I've owned a Fender MIM Stratocaster, and if both were presented to me, it would be difficult to discern them at first. It is notably less expensive than a Fender, but looks and feels great. The quality of Squiers are pretty great, but comes with issues (I have heard that getting a good quality Squier requires luck). The electronics are worse than a Fender, but still sounds nice and chimey. The biggest problem I've noticed is the tuners, strumming too hard or using the tremolo feature puts it very out of tune, which can be fixed by replacing the tuners to locking tuners which I plan to do when I get the cash. A minor problem is the (60 cycle hum?) that comes from the single-coil pickups which can be fixed too. Overall, (for $200) it is a great guitar for beginners and intermediate players!

More than my money's worth!

I purchased the Squier Affinity Two-Tone Sunburst Strat with Maple Fingerboard. I have owned many Squier (and Fender) Strats and Teles before, mostly higher priced Squiers, and I can tell you this guitar is awesome. It is beautiful aesthetically and I was blown away by how good it sounded when I plugged it in for the first time. Tone is important to me as I write and record my own music on a professional level and I demand my guitar tone to be a standout. This guitar will always be a part of my collection. It's a winner, Fender/Squier!

Only Good for Starting Out

This is a perfectly fine guitar for a person starting out. I personally would not use it for any performance. The fret buzzing can get a little annoying. I would save up more for an Ibanez or Dean.
