Yamaha’s FG800 is the bread and butter of acoustic craftsmanship, at an excellent price. It boasts a solid spruce top, supported by scalloped bracing, for supreme resonance. The back and sides are laminate nato wood, which has similar tonal properties to mahogany — it also looks real nice.
The mahogany neck offers a strong feel, with the added beauty and resonance of a walnut bridge and fretboard. Overall, this guitar plays way above its price range. For the true acoustic lover, this Yamaha is an awesomely affordable option.
