The body of this Custom 24 Private Stock #4571 is crafted from the highest quality tonewoods, including a beautifully figured curly maple top that’s perfectly complemented by an African Ribbon mahogany back. This Custom 24 Private Stock is dressed up in an exquisite faded slate smoked burst high gloss nitro finish, giving you a guitar that looks as sweet as it sounds. The neck is carved from paduk into PRS’ regular pattern profile, an updated version of PRS’ Wide Fat neck style based on Paul’s pre-factory design, which could be found on the guitars built for artists such as Carlos Santana, Peter Frampton and Howard Leese back in the late ’70s to the mid ’80s. The Madagascar rosewood fingerboard is bound by curly maple and features gorgeous chrysocolla “J” birds inlays with white mother of pearl centers, catering to the elegance of this Custom 24. The bound headstock is also crafted from curly maple and flaunts a chrysocolla “J” private stock eagle with mother of pearl in the center.
This Custom 24 Private Stock comes equipped with two of Paul Reed Smith’s coveted 59/09 treble and bass pickups, which will provide you with rich harmonic overtones, amazing articulation and clarity. These pickups employ vintage-style wiring and were wound in-house by PRS’s electronic department, allowing these pickups to produce that sought-after vintage tone of the timeless guitars of the ’50s. The neck pickup adds a subtle brightness to your tone while the bridge pickup will deliver a bit more power. The tone of the 59/09 pickups can easily be tweaked to perfection using the simplistic single volume and tone controls, and features a push/pull coil tap to yield an expansive range of sonic possibilities.
The Custom 24 Private Stock features the highest quality hardware including an aluminum PRS stoptail with brass studs, gold/nickel phase III locking tuners with buttons crafted from the finest Madagascar rosewood. This prized instrument comes completely protected inside of a leather Paul Reed Smith Private Stock hardshell case.
