Fender originally introduced their first student models back in 1956, offering beginners an affordable instrument with a comfortable short-scale design. These legendary short-scale models are now seen as pro-level instruments, having become the instruments of choice for some of the most notable names in Alternative Rock including the late Kurt Cobain, Thurston Moore and Justin Meldal-Johnsen.

Today, Fender is proud to introduce the all-new Offset Series, giving today’s contemporary guitarists modern incarnations of the renowned Mustang, Duo-Sonic, and Mustang Bass models.

Fender Offset Series Features:

  • Shorter 24″ (guitars) and 30″ (bass) scale lengths for a comfortable playing feel
  • Varying pickups including single-coils, humbuckers, Mustang90, and P/J pickups
  • Contemporary 9.5″ radius fretboards, modern “C” neck shapes, and medium-jumbo frets on all models
  • Awesome new finishes/pickguard configurations
  • 3-way toggle pickup switching instead of the old-school slider switches on Mustang models
  • Coil-splitting capabilities on the Duo-Sonic HS for modern tonal versatility
  • String-through hardtail bridges instead of the traditional tremolo/vibrato units for enhanced sustain and tuning stability

The Fender Duo-Sonic Electric Guitar

First introduced in 1956, Fender brings their iconic student model into the hands of today’s players with the Duo-Sonic. Available in your choice of Capri Orange, Torino Red, or Artctic White, the Fender Duo-Sonic features an alder body, a comfortable “C”-shaped maple short-scale neck, and a 9.5″-radius maple fingerboard with medium jumbo frets. The Duo-Sonic comes loaded up with a pair of Duo-Sonic single-coil pickups with vintage-spec output for a clear, punchy response and that unmistakable Fender tone.

The Fender Duo-Sonic HS Electric Guitar

A contemporary take on Fender’s renowned Duo-Sonic model, the Fender Duo-Sonic HS adds some extra sonic flexibility to this iconic model thanks to a Duo-Sonic humbucking bridge pickup featuring a push/pull tone control for coil-tapping capabilities. Available in your choice of Surf Green, Daphne Blue, or Black, the Duo-Sonic HS sports an alder body, a cozy “C”-shaped maple short-scale neck, and a modern 9.5″-radius rosewood fretboard with medium jumbo frets for an outstanding playing feel.

The Fender Mustang Electric Guitar

In 1964, Fender debuted a completely new instrument among their student model lineup with the now-legendary Mustang. Today’s Mustang offering includes a classic 24″ scale length, a comfortable modern “C”-shaped maple neck, and a contemporary 9.5″ maple fingerboard with medium jumbo frets. The alder body comes dressed in your choice of three gloss finishes (Olive, Black, or Olympic White), and comes outfitted with a set of two vintage-spec low output Mustang pickups that can take you anywhere from superb cleans to a nice growl. The three-way pickup selector switch offers an awesome modern touch.

The Fender Mustang 90 Electric Guitar

What sets this hot-rodded Mustang 90 apart from the standard Mustang are a set of specially-voiced MP-90 single-coil pickups, which lend to the full-sounding voice of the Mustang 90. Bringing the model into new tonal territory, the Mustang 90’s MP-90 pickups give this guitar those classic P-90 sounds with a distinctively warm response and a nice P-90 bite & growl. The gloss-finished body of the Mustang 90 comes available in your choice of Silver, Torino Red, or Olympic White. Modern appointments include a short-scale “C”-shaped maple neck and a 9.5″-radius rosewood fingerboard with medium jumbo frets.

The Fender Mustang Bass PJ

And last but certainly not least, the Mustang Bass PJ holds down the low-end with exceptionally easy playability, outstanding performance, and incredible tone thanks to a versatile pairing of vintage-style Jazz Bass and Precision Bass pickups. Just as the other members of the Offset Series family, the Mustang Bass PJ features a comfortable modern “C”-shaped maple neck and a 9.5″-radius fingerboard with medium jumbo frets.
