If the Moon City Masters seem like they’re completely on the same wavelength when they play, it’s because they’ve been making music together since they were kids. As identical twins, Jordan and Talor Steinberg learned to play music and write songs together. After graduating college, they earned a living teaching private music lessons at School of Rock, which allowed them to continue honing their musical skills every day. Starting when they were teenagers in their hometown of Mamaroneck, NY, and then after relocating to Brooklyn, the brothers played together in countless bands, always with Talor on guitar and vocals, Jordan on bass and vocals, and with one or two other people sharing creative duties. Two years ago they decided that it was time to move forward on their own as a duo. Their musical connection was so strong after years of playing together, studying music together and listening to the same music, that it was clear they needed to focus on honing their own sound. The Moon City Masters was born. The band recorded their debut EP with Grammy-nominated producer Justin Craig at the Bunker in Brooklyn in the winter of 2018. Their first single, “The Price You Pay” is out July 11th, and the full EP, called “The Adventures of the Moon City Masters” will be out Fall 2019.
