Karen Bella began her vocal training at 9, and studied piano, and drums as a child. Songwriting began at age 12. Growing up in North Bellmore, NY she was part of her community and school theater productions as well as singing throughout NY. As a music major and alumni of Five Towns College, it was there that she studied guitar which allowed her to develop her writing style. She lived in Israel for a few years, performing original music and gaining support. After moving back to NY, Bella has been very active in the Long Island music scene, eventually meeting Josh Dion (drummer, synth bass player and lead singer) of Paris Monster to produce and play on her upcoming EP. Prestigious musicians like Teddy Kumpel (touring with joe Jackson), Geoff Kraly of Paris Monster, Chris Parker, Ryan Scott, and Grammy Nominated engineer Jake Lummus have featured their amazing talents on this EP. Bella was also featured on Johnny Nale’s Single “Hey! I’m A Lady”, also featuring musicians such as Steve Ferrone (From Tom Petty & The Heart Breakers), Tony Franklin (The Fretless Monster) and Peter Stroud (Guitarist/musical director for Sheryl Crow).
Her EP is slated for a late Summer/early Fall release. She is currently touring throughout the NY and Tri-State area. Bella is slotted to perform at The Philadelphia Music Festival, Great South Bay Music Festival, & Statt Fest (Farmingdale, NY) this Summer!
