Selected by Conn-Selmer specifically for our horns of distinction program, this tenor saxophone is currently on display in our Distinction Showroom in Manhattan, NYC.

Within the saxophone community, there are few brands that are held with such reverence as Selmer Paris. Originally focusing on clarinets, Henri Selmer entered the saxophone market in 1922, and has been the preeminent name in professional saxophones since 1935. Nearly all modern saxophones can find its DNA in the designs of the saxophones manufactured by Selmer in the mid 20th century.

The Series II Tenor Saxophone is the longest running production model in Henri Selmer Paris’ century plus history, and with good reason. The Series II is exemplary of the highest standards of saxophone production that is synonymous with the name Henri Selmer Paris. Built to exacting standards, the Series II Tenor saxophone offers superior intonation, quick action, and a dark yet flexible tone.

The Series II Tenor saxophone is the saxophone of choice for classical saxophonists due to its timbre, response and tone, but is by no means solely a classical saxophone. Its flexibility of tone and lush core sound make it a favorite among Jazz, Funk, Rock and R&B saxophonists alike.

In 2011, in honor of their 125th Anniversary, Henri Selmer Paris upgraded their line of saxophones to the Jubilee edition. These Jubilee horns are not redesigns of the models, but rather subtle improvements to the horns. The height of the tone holes have been raised slightly for improved intonation. The octave mechanism on the neck has been redesigned for a lighter weight to increase response and resonance. The Jubilee models have a new, more elaborate engraving pattern that extends down to the bow of the instrument, and the bow-body band sees the return of the Henri Selmer signature, absent from the bell since the beginning of the run of the famed Balanced Action model.

As with all Horns of Distinction, this saxophone has been thoroughly inspected and will be given a final setup prior to shipment to you.  Don’t miss out on this beauty before it’s gone!
