I am an "awkward guitar shape" lover - V's, Explorers, ML's.....I don't typically like this body style - I have been playing LP's for YEARS...I got a wild hair to purchase this guitar after a LOT of research on Schecter guitars...wasn't too keen on the Schecter models that I have played in local music stores - maybe they weren't set up correctly. My mind was changed forever after playing a good friend's Schecter - I also wanted to do something crazy and get a 7 string. I play melodic death/black metal and didn't know how well a 7 string would fit into my playing style, but it has, and I am so happy with my purchase. From the customer service, all the way down to the end product! Sam Ash and Schecter has outdone themselves, and have retained my loyalty! The neck does take a little getting used to, coming from 20+ years of 6 strings - I've only owned one other 7 string in my life and literally never played it....I actually hated it. But this one is comfortable, easy to play, sounds amazing, and is built like a tank. I honestly love everything about this amazing guitar, and I had my mind made up when the package was en route that I was going to end up sending it back for whatever reason, but it quickly made it's way to the top of my guitar collection - I have put this beauty through her paces - rigorous playing in an attempt to find something I don't like about it. All it does is make me smile, and then it smiles back at me! The locking tuners were a nice touch, also! I regret NOTHING about this purchase. Black is deep too...gorgeous! Do yourself a favor a pick up a Schecter...you might make one of the smartest musical decisions you'll ever make! I did!
