Small but powerful.
I have owned a Sampson XP308i, which is only 300 watts, but has excellent quality. I began having an issue with it and found out they were no longer being manufactured. So I decided to move up to the XP1000 which had a superior amount of wattage to my little XP308i. But wattage doesn't tell the story for this unit. It is way under powered as it has no more power for volume than my little 300 watt unit. All the Sampson's have the same horn, but the XP1000 has a 10 inch speaker rather than the 8 inch in my smaller PA. But once I got it on a performance, and as a singer, the microphone settings had no treble only bass. So singing with this unit is not so good. The Bluetooth is excellent with its own volume and tone settings. This unit may be very good for speakers who want music playing before their speech or after through the Bluetooth, but if your a professional singer, this unit isn't recommended by me.
I presently own a Samson XP301i with only 300 watts of power, and it has more quality in sound than this 1000 watt Samson system. I just couldn't get the tone quality to my liking. The great part is, Sam Ash is such a great company to do business with, and I would definitely do future business with this fine music supply company. The PA gets a D, but Sam Ash gets an A+!!
the mixer is not protected very well
I would say I was worried when we purchased this system because the mixer was connected to a speaker and I do not like so called Portable systems that are set up like that. I understand the idea but not having a mixer in front of me is not something I wanted. We purchased the system because we were in a bind and were not close to home where our equipment was located and the wedding we were doing decided at the last minute that the set up we brought could not be heard for the cocktail hour. We had used the a different suitcase system in the past as a back up system and were looking to purchase the same thing but after Mario at the Orlando Sam Ash store showed my partner the Samson we decided that the system was a better value for the price and wattage. So far we have loved the portability and the fact that we got what we wanted with everything packed into one piece. We liked it so much that we are going to purchase a 2nd until so each of us has one on hand!

Samsons expedition series is long known for its versatility and now with Bluetooth play ability, its the most versatile in its class. The pre-amp quality has improved dramatically. The EQ seems to be tighter as well. This would be a great first PA for a band or a back yard party PA. "This is a real hands-on product review from Z @ Sam Ash Torrance."
This PA is perfect for someone looking for great sound in a small package. It's compact, portable, easy to use, yet it still sounds amazing. The Bluetooth capabilities make this system wonderful for parties both at home and out. This is a real hands on review by Coty @ Sam Ash Indianapolis
I was impressed with the 1,000 watts! Nice sound for the mobile DJ. So easy to carry, makes my gigs less frustrating without sacrificing my sound. Nice! This is a real hands on product review from Warren @ Sam Ash Buffalo Grove
The Expedition lne has been a standard in portable pa system formany years and with the introduction of the new XP1000...the trend continues. 1000 watts of power going to (2) 10" cabinest that slide tother for easy travel. 10 channels of input (4XLR, 3 stereo inputs) with built FX that are now selectable for more than just reverb as was the case with prior XP systems. The built in bluetooth allows for wireless transmiting from your ipod/pad/iphone or smartphone device. It also sports a USB input and and AUX input when bluetooth isnt an option. This is a great little package at $799! This is a hands on review from Boz @ Sam Ash Richmond
This Samson portable system is great for any small gig (perfect for family BBQs). With it's bluetooth capabilities, you can wirelessly send music from anywhere into the speakers and play them out loud. This is a real hands-on product review from Tamir @ Sam Ash Edison
