Versatile and powerful, the Kawai ES8 is a compact, elegant and highly portable digital piano, one for truly every musical occasion… anytime, anywhere.

Regardless of whether you’re playing on stage, practicing for a recital, accompanying the church choir or studying in the classroom, the new Kawai ES8 is portable piano perfection.

Stellar Tone!
The ES8 features Kawai’s exclusive Harmonic Imaging XL with 88-key piano sampling. This unique technology creates sounds with the highest level of detail and clarity possible. Each key of a piano has its own unique tonal characteristics. Some have only one string, others two and still others three, for instance. There are also differences in hammer felt shape and density.

These and other factors create subtle differences in tone from one note to the next. By sampling and recreating each key individually (rather than “stretching” a smaller number of samples) the unique tonal character of each note is preserved. Kawai’s Progressive Harmonic Imaging (PHI) with 88-key sampling uses a larger tonal “database” than regular Harmonic Imaging to provide greater tonal details throughout the dynamic range. Ultra Progressive Harmonic Imaging (UPHI) with 88-key sampling uses our largest tonal database, thus providing the greatest tonal detail possible.

Stellar Touch!
The new class-leading Responsive Hammer III keyboard action on the ES8 re-creates the exceptional touch of an acoustic grand piano with its realistic movement and rigid “springless” design working together to provide a smooth, natural piano playing experience. A triple-sensor key detection system enhances responsiveness and accuracy.

Virtual Technician
A skilled piano technician can personalize an acoustic piano’s sound and touch response. Kawai’s exclusive Virtual Technician does the same for the ES8 digital piano.

Built-In Recorder
The ES8 offers an easy to use 10-Song / 2-Track built-in Recorder ideal for self-evaluation or capturing a moment of inspiration.

USB Connectivity
USB to Device and Host capabilities provide a world of opportunity, including recording and playing digital audio, storing songs, playing song files and connectivity to computers

One of the best digital pianos on the market.

from Edison, NJ

Staff Reviewer

The Kawai ES8 is one of the top of the line models in the digital piano world. Incredible piano feel and the Harmonic Sound Engine could fool most piano players into thinking they are playing an acoustic piano. At only 50 lbs, this can be taken anywhere. The Kawai app It comes with allows you to tweak your tone even more which is a really cool feature.

Awesome Feel

I'm not sure where Kawia has been hiding, but they've cooked up a great digital piano with the ES8. The replication of acoustic feel is incredible, as are the pre-loaded patches. The internal speakers serve great on their own, but I am currently running it through a portable PA system and the sound is out of this world. This will definitely be my go to gig-er for a while!

Perfect Digital Piano

What really makes this digital piano special is the sounds that come out of it. It has very professional, realistic piano sounds that you won't find in other digital pianos, especially in the portable category. The weighted keys also feel good.

This review is from Ellis at Sam Ash in Richmond, VA.

I have a regular customer who purchased his off of a fellow musician. I went to help him set something up in his studio and as he was showing me his collection of keys (some very cool vintage stuff as well) he happened to have one of these and I got to play it. My thought was that it was just another "digital piano", but not only did it sound amazing, but it feel more like a piano than others often do. I believe that the most interesting thing was the technician feature it had, which allowed you to tweak it and tune it, much like a real person would do for a baby grand. It was a very pro looking (and feeling) digital piano (23 or so sounds) and soon to come is the matching stand.
