Great service-every time. Music made easy
It is very nice sound
Great sounds. I was looking for a good weighted keyboard, tried several and different brands and decided on this one as the best. I don't get tired playing like I did on others. The action is perfect for practice. The sound is also very good. The options packed into it are great and keep me busy for hours. Already had a Roland XP-60, so was familiar with many of the functions. Would recommend this to anyone that doesn't have the deep pockets and needs an easy to use, friendly and performance ready instrument.
I can't keep my fingers off the workstation - putting in hours of creating and playing. My Juno DS88 is used during lively church services. It's sounds are pumped through a 36 track sound board. The piano is responsive to various sounds to accompany the voices and blends well with the other musicians. Sequencing whether dual or layer modes are easily accessible when changes are necessary for the mood of the songs. Still learning how to layer and split the keyboard, but the 88 keys allow for much flexibility. The screen could be larger, but you become use to it after a few performances.
I love this keyboard. I grew up using a full upright piano and needed my own, so this 88 key full weighted keyboard was on my list. It comes with a nice user interface, splitting the tones on the keyboard is easy to setup, and there's plenty of other features I have yet to work with. Roland's onboard sounds don't disappoint.
The Juno DS 88 is a fantastic sounding weighted keyboard with the full range of keys. The action feels great on this guy and the sounds it has are really great! A voice category and favorites bank makes finding the perfect sound quick and easy, and the pads on the right are great for triggering drum loops and rhythm patterns. They also can act as a small volume meter while you're playing! Overall a really solid keyboard that's portable and powerful. This is a Sam Ash review.
It's so good product! I love it!
I was looking for a keyboard to use in my "dad rock" band to expand our sound and/or enhance our guitar sound. While I'm not gigging, my girlfriend will use the keyboard to rebuild her chops using the great piano sounds in the DS88. I was trying to make a decision between this board or the Yammy MX88 and went Roland because of the additional sounds/banks I could download from their site or could load in via a USB thingy. I want to thank Sam Ash employee James Creer for competing for this sale and the after sale follow up which is much appreciated.
I purchased a JUNO-DS88 because I needed an 88 weighted-key instrument that was also very transportable and easy to use for live performance. I haven't bought a Roland keyboard in many years, although I love (and still use) my D50. The DS88 had such a unique set of features, that I thought I would give it a try. First, it's pretty easy to transport (around 35 pounds). In addition, I am pleased with the capacity for sound generation. Many sounds are lively, really useful, and fun to play. I feel the piano sounds are good for an instrument at this price point that also has so many other features built in. Of course, these piano patches are no are no match for my Ivory II American Grand software, but why should they at this price? What makes this keyboard unique is the addition of a microphone preamp system with effects so you can run a microphone right into the keyboard. There is also a very nice section on the left side of the keyboard that permits very easy control of the parameters you most want to adjust on the fly (reverb, attack, release, etc.). This section also has a set of sliders that make it fast and easy to control blends of upper and lower tones for splits, dual overlays, etc. I also really love the "joystick" controller for pitch bend and modulation. I had this controller on my D50 and have been missing it ever since. The DS88 also runs fine on batteries. The keyboard response is adjustable cross a number of parameters that can be changed quickly if needed. That said, the response is certainly not what I have on my Kurzweil. While I recognize that I would love the responsiveness of the Kurzweil, I recognize that that keyboard costs four times as much. I do find that it is a bit of a challenge (for me at least) to play rapidly repeated notes. In general, though, I can express myself well with this instrument. I'd check out the DS88 because, to my knowledge, it is the only instrument with this level of di
Drawing from Roland's advanced SuperNATURAL engine and the Juno lineage, Roland has created a faithful modern stage synth. With controls that are more minimalist in nature than generations previous, users can focus on performance and get to playing quickly. 8 drum pads allow for sequencing and loops to use as a tool during production or on stage. The sounds are so real that it almost seems unreal with the quality of sound at this price point. Piano players will appreciate the hammer action of the keys.
