The FP-30 is Roland's entry-level model, but that doesn't mean that they sacrificed quality. Packing their acclaimed sound, feel and modern features in a top-quality 88-note instrument, Roland has brought to market a digital piano that will appeal to players all across the spectrum. With superior sound and touch, a highly portable design, and advantages for learning, the Roland FP-30 is sure to be sought after by everyone from students to professionals and everyone in between.

Superior Sound and Touch
Powered by Roland's SuperNATURAL Piano engine, the FP-30 features the unrivaled sound one would expect from a Roland digital piano. Aside from piano sounds, the FP-30 also features non-piano sounds such as organs, strings, and voices, as well as a variety of drum patterns. The keyboard will provide a pleasant playing experience as well, featuring 88 weighted keys with Escapement and Ivory Feel.

Highly Portable Design
For an 88-key, fully weighted digital piano, the Roland FP-30 is surprisingly lightweight. This makes it a great purchase for the musician on-the-go. The light, compact design allows it to fit in tight spaces and is easy to move when needed. Despite its compact size, the FP-30 is sure to feel sturdy and reliable under your fingertips. You can easily make it your primary digital piano, or set it aside for lessons or gigs.

Advantages for Learning
The Roland FP-30 is a great option for the classroom as well. Twin Piano mode splits the keyboard into two equal parts, which is great for two players to sit side by side and practice together. There are also two headphone jacks, perfect for classes held in a group setting. Built-in Bluetooth wireless connectivity is also available for use with popular apps on your smartphone or tablet, making the FP-30 a great digital piano to learn on or teach with.

Nice piano for the price. My daughter was using a Yamaha digital in her room and a baby grand in our living room. She went away so we bought this for her. I thought I was getting a great value but another company offered the same piano for almost $100 less (after I had placed the order). That price difference is the only reason it get 4 stars instead of 5. On more positive side, we did a free pair of headphone. Also, I suppose (not sure) Sam Ash store locations provides a level of convenience if service is ever needed.

Functional and good price

Weighted keys and sound is good. In terms of functionality, navigating through other sounds and functions are not as intuitive. Delivery took longer than expected due to my order not being processed correctly, I had to call them multiple times.

If you're on the fence, pick this up.

Best digital piano under $1000. Great tone and response from the keys. Several quality voices outside of the expected Piano and Electric Piano. Pretty much everything you'd want.

Good solid piano

Great piano, nice action, not very heavy and sounds good. It's not the best sampling but it's good enough and I enjoy playing it (some notes have a very tiny bit of a twang when you are listening in headphones and play them without the sustain pedal). CONS: Sustain pedal included in the box is a really cheap plastic affair. The only bad thing about this piano is that I cannot find a triple pedal for it anywhere without buying a whole piano stand which wills set you back another $200.

Great sound and feel, but limited I/O. Heavier than expected

I use the FP-30 for home practice. Overall it is an excellent piano, better than my Clavinova 420 in terms of both sound and feel. The onboard controls seem strange at first but turn out to be quite intuitive, with the aid of a magnifying glass to read the labels above the piano keys. For me the only advantage over the FP-10 is that there are more I/O options. However these do NOT include audio in, which is important for practicing, so I had to buy a mini mixer . I would suggest the FP-60 instead for this reason. Also the bluetooth apps seem pretty primitive, not as nice as what I saw in the Kawai demo. Finally, do you really need a digital home piano, or would a stage piano work? With a home piano, you get a lot of extra weight from the speakers/audio out.

Just got this last night and have yet explored all, but so far, it sounds and feels great. Bought it as "used, like new," and it is indeed mint. (Sam Ash shipped it right away, but I needed to reship it out of the US.) Thanks for a great deal.
