The Steinberg UR22mkII interface is perfect for beginners as it's easy to use. And compatible with any recording software & operating systems. It has everything a beginner needs to get started and then some.

The Steinberg UR22 mkII is a great entry level recording interface. With two input mic/line input jacks you have all you need to get started with any recording project. At 24 bit/192 KHz this interface can run high audio resolution without crashing. Comes with Cubase AI which is a very easy to use recording program that works on both Mac and PC.

The Steinberg UR 22 MK2 is a great interface to get started in recording. It comes with Cubase which is a good DAW to get any recording done. The preamps are nice and allow for a bit more headroom then it's similarly priced counterparts. It's got 48v phantom power and two inputs for instruments or microphones, and is reasonably priced. I'd recommend this for anyone looking to get their feet in the door with some good quality recordings for a budget price.

This is a great budget interface. It is easy to use and very durable. Both things you want in your recording gear. I would recommend.

I used to own the us 122 when it first came out. It was the first usb powered interface at the time. With that said, it looks like not much has changed at tascam. The 122 was a hard load up, as well as the ur22. However after you get over that hump. Lots of great recordings to be made. I used the 122 like crazy, and was very reliable, i think this has a lot of the same characteristics so i know, it will last for a very long time. Tascam is great about staying current with the newest operating systems so i know you'll only have to buy a device of this sort only once. Great choice, for a portable pro system on the go.

The Yamaha name is synonymous with quality, and the Steinberg mkII does not disappoint. The Dpre class-A mic preamps sound fantastic! The build is sturdy, the design is intuitive, and the setup was simple. Also, I was pleased to find out that the MkII comes with Cubase. It's really a great deal for any bedroom musician looking to record their songs.

Steinberg has been in the industry for years many of us have used Cubase as a DAW in some shape or form. You get pristine sound quality from this unit starting with an amazing pair of Class A D-Pre preamps from Yamaha and 24 bit 192kHz conversion. Whether you are using a DI from an instrument or your favorite mic you can be sure that this will give you a transparent and clean tone true to the source. One of my favorite features about this particular interface is that you can use it with an ipad if you have a camera connection kit, which makes capturing ideas, practices, and demos so much easier than using a computer/laptop but you still get the high fidelity sound you'd expect from a much larger and more expensive setup. So if you are looking for an affordable small interface but don't want to compromise on audio quality, compatibility with mac/pc/ios, or features than check out this great interface from Steinberg.

This little interface has proven that you don't always have to break the bank when it comes to recording. Especially when you're doing so from your home. For a musician or anyone looking to get solid sounding recording from their microphones or instruments, this is a simple interface to learn the face of. However, I did notice some difficulty when it came to setting it up with my computer. I troubleshoot the issue with a different interface a friend of mine was using and the set-up for that within the computer was simple and straight forward while this one took a bit more time. That said, still a solid performer for the price!
