PRS is off to an already incredible start for 2018 with the incredibly popular SE Series lineup. Back and better than ever with its modest price point, the SE Series Standard 24 now comes equipped with the 81/15 "S" pickups bring forth plenty of that sweet PRS tone that is suitable for whatever kind of music that comes to your mind. With an all-mahogany body and maple neck, this guitar will handle and play as good as it sounds and looks. Whether you are looking to get into the wonderful world of guitars for the first time or you’re a veteran player looking for your 10th guitar, the SE Standard 24 is a solid choice.

Flexible Pickups for Any Genre
The extremely versatile 85/15 "S" pickups cover a wide range of sought after tones that any guitarist will love and will want to experiment with. Effortlessly switch your sound up whether you are playing classic rock riffs or pull up on the tone knob to split the pickups to get that vintage country twang. When playing the SE Standard, you'll notice the pickups have a real nice snap and bite to them but not brittle and harsh. When splitting both pickups, the guitar tends to have acoustic like qualities to the tone.

Comfort and Astounding Playability
As soon as you pick up and plug in the SE Standard 24, you are going to notice that the guitar gives off this vibe of warmth and comfort to the player thanks to its all mahogany body which lets the sound resonate freely and equally. The carved cutaway lets the player easily access the higher frets for speedy soloing while the PRS Patented, Molded Tremolo and PRS Tuners keep your guitar in tune and intonated.

Updated Neck for 2018!
The classic, Wide Thin maple neck gets even better for 2018 with creme fretboard binding! The 24-fret neck is capped off with a rosewood fingerboard and the distinctive bird inlays making PRS' flagship model so easy to play and enjoy.

  • Mahogany Body in Gloss Finish
  • Wide Thin Maple Neck with Binding
  • 81/15 "S" Pickups with 3-Way Switch and Push/Pull Tone Knob for Coil Tapping

I LOVE this guitar!

I loved the feel of this guitar from the moment I first played it. It feels like butter, its so smooth. My fingers just fly over the strings, and the sound is great. I love it. I've only had it for less than a week, and I haven't owned that many guitars in the past 50 years or so, but this is the best guitar I've ever played.

This is a must have!

I love this guitar! The feel, the sound, it's the "perfect fit" for me and my band. I especially love the push/pull change between humbucker and single coil sound. It's a less expensive option for the PRS line and I highly recommend it.

Overlooked often but now I'm putting in overtime!

First off I love Sam Ash.Recently gone left of "center"and never looking back.Real music people, helpful and considerate.Did a hundred tube reviews on prs and everything said the affordable version was excellent so I get it nearly in tune and set up perfect. It's a bit more "snappier "than I imagined and fills a ton of tones, feels good and easy to navigate. I wouldn't recommend to metal dudes but literally does everything else. I have a substantial collection of guitars now and if I decide to downsize this will be a keeper. It's definitely a professional feel at a working budget holds tuning like nothing I have ever played and it looks great in person.my experience has been top notch across the board.

Great feel, great sound, oozes quality.

I have absolutely zero complaints about this guitar. It looks great, sounds fantastic, and makes playing seems effortless. If you're just starting or even a seasoned vet at guitar, this is a piece you should definitely have in your collection.

Fantastic guitar.

This is an overall outstanding guitar from PRS. I've had it for four/five months now and waited to write a review so it wouldn't be premature and i had some real experience playing it. I've had a Gibson SG standard, fender MIM strat, and Epi Les Paul, I think this is my favorite. Here are the reasons why: First - the neck, this is actually what won me over in the store, the neck is crazy comfortable, the 12" radius also makes playing and bending super easy. Ease of access to higher frets is another plus on the neck. Second: The weight and balance of the guitar. When I am playing this with a strap it's easily the most comfortable guitar i've had. Third: The pickups, the new 85/15 S pickups in this thing are outstanding. They are crisp, articulate, full of tone and clarity but also dirty up nicely and can play super dirty while retaining tone and note clarity. They split extremely well and provide a very nice single coil tone. I played through my friend's Orange tube amp through which he normally plays a fender custom shop strat, he stated: "wow, that sound's amazing." Fourth: Resonance and tonal quality. I always play a guitar unplugged first to see how it resonates and sounds. This thing sounds GREAT and resonates amazingly unplugged. I did have it set up after purchase, (as i did with the other guitars, because every guitar needs to be to play how you want it to.) and seriously don't think there is a better guitar until you get to more than double the price of this. And truthfully i think this is the arc point in the law of diminishing return where if you are trying to find something nicer than this it can't be much nicer without paying exorbitantly more for a minor improvement. PRS - you should be proud of this product. It's sensational for it's price point. It's the type of instrument that I always want to pick up and just play. Shout out to Sam Ash Indianapolis for their help through the buying process/finding a case, etc. They were great.

Lots of bang for he buck

As a Tele/single coil/maple fretboard guy I decided it was time for something new - rosewood, humbucker, tremolo bar. I was long a distant admirer of PRS guitars. Distant due to the price tag. Then I discovered the SE Standard series and decided to pull the trigger. For $500 I could afford a misfire if it happened. It didn't. I LOVE this guitar. A wide variety of tonal possibilities with the three position switch and the push/pull switch from humbuckers to "single coil" (not really, but close) with the tone knob. Speaking of the tone knob, it is significant. From 10 to 0 on my squier tele is a difference, but from 10 to 7 not so much. This PRS gives the full range with changes evident at every point along the way. The playability is like butter, smooth and responsive. It holds its tuning well, and even with the tremolo bar in play heavily (I refuse to call them "whammy bars") it stays awfully close. I'd be shocked if there were another option this good in the $500 range. Only 2 complaints - the setup from SA left some fret buzz that needed adjusting, and when I emailed my rep to ask what kind of strings were sent on it I got no reply.

Awesome Guitar for an awesome price

I normally buy cheaper guitars that I can upgrade, but I don't see myself needing to upgrade this bad buy. It plays smooth as butter and the pickups can sing silky as well as well as it can scream. There are definitely better PRS's out there, but if you're looking for a guitar that won't break the bank but could be your main squeeze, this one's it.

Incredible guitar and incredible price

This guitar really over passed my expectations, is not a cheap instrument, but a pro guitar, maybe it hasn't the settings for my playing but you can fix that easily; by the way it looks gorgeous. This is a "most have" guitar. Do not hesitate, just get it.
