Designed with effortless playability and vintage tones, the SE series has been a staple of PRS' catalog because of its known uncompromised quality just like all of their guitars. The SE Custom 22 is a versatile guitar whether you are just starting out your journey or if you are a veteran musician. Its mahogany body with maple top delivers warmth and sustain while the wide thin maple neck is highly playable and comfortably slim. The 85/15 "S" humbucking pickups work well with every genre whether you are playing classic rock or clean and chimey chords.

The Classic Combination of Tonewoods
The SE Custom 22 features the classic combo of a clean and warm-sounding mahogany body with a maple top that has plenty of high-end. The flame maple veneer is strikingly gorgeous with its tight grains, and the gloss finish really makes it pop. The PRS patented tremolo lets you go crazy with the whammy bar, but still maintains tuning stability extremely well. The distinctive PRS carved out cutaway, lets you easily access the higher register without worrying about your hand getting caught up.

Classic Playability with More Comfort than Ever
The classic, wide thin maple neck is a dream to play and is capped off with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard and PRS' distinctive bird inlays. As soon as you pick up this guitar, you'll notice how easy it is to become acquainted with it because of how comfortable and natural it feels in your hands.

Classic Configuration, Vintage Voice
The 85/15 "S" pickups cover various tones that any guitarist will love. With plenty of versatility, easily switch up your sound whether you are playing classic rock riffs or pull up on the tone knob to split the pickups to get vintage single-coil tones. The 85/15 "S" pickups have a real nice bite and snap to them but they are not muddy nor harsh. When both pickups are split, the SE Custom 22 has acoustic-like qualities to the tone.

The PERFECT Guitar

After years of trying different guitars from major manufacturers I finally found my perfect guitar. The Fretboard on this guitar is unbelievable. Beginning with the smoothest rosewood fingerboard I have ever tried. The frets are rounded off and not jagged like others I have tried and the action was perfect out of the box. I enjoy bending strings, it is so easy compared to others. Before, I would look at a song and I would forget it if it had string bends in it. The finish on it is beautiful. I am retired now and the most that I can play on other guitars was around an hour. I can play on this for hours. I honestly can't find anything wrong with it. IT'S PERFECT. I will start putting my pennies together to buy an acoustic if it plays as well as this one. My wife says that I take better care of the guitar than her. Thank You SAM ASH for sending me my dream guitar. It was packed inside the awesome Gig Bag, then in the factory box and then packed tightly in a shipping box and came a couple of days after ordering it. Great customer service.

Incredible value

The quality and craftsmanship of this guitar are amazing at this price. The neck feels great all the way up and down, although it took a little getting used to the wide feel - at first I thought it was wider than standard, but I realized it felt that way just because it is thinner than what I'm used to. I especially love the bridge pickup at high gain. The guitar is very resonant (even though it's pretty lightweight), which can be a bad thing if you're not well practiced at muting unwanted string vibrations. The only downside is that the split coil sound isn't fantastic. It's decent, but I don't get the same kind of chime that I get from my Epiphone Plus Pro split coil, and of course nothing like a strat.
