I will admit that I am an aggressive drummer but I am not a destructive drummer. I purchased these sticks after a 22 year old set of Easton Ahead Lars Ulrich sticks given to me by my father broke. I chose these because I liked the short taper and meaty design of theses sticks coupled with the nylon tip (my preference). While I had them, they felt great and gave me the feel, and I thought, the durability that I needed. Unfortunately, after three days, the sticks cracked at the taper, right below the tip. This appears to me to be more of an issue with the durability of the wood (oak as opposed to hickory) more than anything else. I will go back to using hickory (if I can find some) or the Eastons due to durability.
