Presonus Eris series of studio monitors

The compact Presonus Eris 4.5 monitors were created to provide consumers, audio hobbyists and professionals alike with a high-quality solution for their desktop media production. Ideally your nearfield monitoring should be as transparent as possible, providing a balanced, representation of your mix. Too much or too little of particular frequencies can give you the wrong idea how your mix is going to translate to other speaker systems like a car, mobile device, home stereo or even another studio.  You need monitors that accurately reflect your mix so you have a better idea of how it will sound to everyone else.

While each cabinet features a one-inch ultralite silk-dome tweeter and long-throw Kevlar low frequency woofer, Presonus conveniently combines your inputs, power and a high-current 50W Class AB stereo amplifier into one cabinet. Simply connect speaker wire to the other cabinet for stereo operation and unified control of both monitors from a single side. No more shuttling back and forth between monitors to match settings.

The Eris 4.5's are a great and affordable way to get the "real story" from your mix. They feature a High and Mid EQ, low frequency cut-off (so you can add separate subwoofers to handle the lower end) and an acoustic space selector to match the bass output to monitor position (in corners, for example, on each side of a computer screen or out in the room on stands). This way, they not only keep the sound accurate, they're customized to your room.

  • 4.5-inch Kevlar® low-frequency transducer
  • 1-inch (25 mm), ultra-low-mass, silk-dome, high-frequency transducer
  • Front-firing acoustic port for superior bass
  • Midrange (±6 dB, continuously variable),
  • HF (±6 dB, continuously variable),
  • High-Pass (Off, 80 Hz, 100 Hz)
  • Acoustic Space settings (flat, -2, -4 dB) for accurate mixing contour
  • RF interference, output current limiting, temperature, transient and bass protection
  • Optimized, resonance-suppressing internal bracing
  • Two balanced TRS and Two unbalanced RCA inputs
  • 100dB (E4.5) maximum continuous SPL

Decent monitors that don't break the bank. Plenty of options like balanced inputs, hi and mid trim , and aux input. Monitors are tuned flat and let you track with confidence.

So far so good

I've had these for a couple of weeks now, so I'm still breaking them in a bit, but they are already warming up quite nicely. I think I'm getting a good value from them, they can be set as flat as can be, and they can be tweaked a bit, depending on what your listening needs are. I'm using them on a small, mobile recording setup to get neutral, accurate sound to know where to boost, cut, tweak, etc. So far they have been great for this, much better than the speakers I was using previously. The only bad part really is that I now know I have to go back and do some re-editing. But that's not really bad, I might not have noticed the imbalances without them. I compared them with the KRK Rockit 5s, which are just a bit out of my budget, and frankly sounded a bit more lively and detailed than these did, but the more they break in the closer they are to getting that sound. If you're needing monitors but have a tight budget, these are well worth considering.

Awesome Studio Monitors!

Okay I've setup my Presonus Eris 4.5 Studio Monitors and have ran them for a couple of days and I just have to say AWESOME! These speakers have more than the power I need, are state of the art, AND I can hear all the low end I need CLEARLY and with plenty of headroom/power/volume. Affordable and perfect for my home studio setup, the perfect match for my Audiobox and Studio 1 Professional!
