The Gretsch Electromatic Lap Steel produces the unmistakably rich tones of an electric Hawaiian guitar. Sleek and smoothly finished in tobacco sunburst, it features a solid mahogany slab body, chrome-covered single-coil pickup, chrome-plated string-through-body bridge, silver plastic deco control plate and circle, triangle, square, and diamond-shaped fingerboard position markers. Electronics include a single pickup paired with a Master Volume and Master Tone controls. Case not included.

Just like the old days!

I've recommended this steel guitar to a few of my students as well as owning one myself. Out of countless vintage lap steels that I own, I keep gravitating towards this one... It tunes up easy and stays in tune, and it has that great tone like an old vintage steel. Definitely needs to be restrung with a real set of lap steel strings since Gretsch seems to string them with a super-light set of electric guitar strings. For strings I like the D'addario EXL145 set.
