This is a new addition to a upgraded kit. He (my son) chose it to save his Alpha Boomer when he is practicing. He loves the weight and the way he plays, he knows he can't hurt it. Solid cymbal he just added to his collection of Paiste cymbals. Excellent product.

This ride is one of the more unique sounding cymbals I've had in a long time. The new alpha line is some of the best Paiste have done in a long time, and the prices are good too. What's really cool about this cymbal is it is bright, powerful, yet complex and distinct sounding. I've never heard another ride quite like it. It is pretty darn loud though, so not going to be good for be bop or quieter jazz gigs. The bell is just unreal, has a low pitch and full tone, I love it. When you crash it, it's like a metallic saw blade explosion or something. Crazy sounding. Works great in noise, hardcore, math, prog, experimental music. One of my favorite cymbals to date.
