This is a great cymbal. I just bought the 4 inch and I love it. As said in the first review, this is anything but a splash cymbal. It's actually thicker than my crash cymbal and has a very definable "ping" sound, somewhat comparable to the bell of a ride. It's a great buy.

Say what you will about the Signature series, Paiste 2002 alloys have a distinctive high-quality that separates itself from the highest-end lines. It's the perfect alloy for this miniature cymbal. As with all cymbals, many sounds can be evoked from this tiny bell. In my experience, the most routinely extrapolated sounds come from a controlled strike on the top of the cymbal rendering a clean, crisp triangle-like tone - and the other sound originating from a hard-hitting strike on the side which produces a lower-pitched, high-sustaining bell noise reminiscent of a tubular bell. Despite its small size this is definitely not a splash cymbal. This thick, smooth and unhammered microcymbal is absolutely perfect for accents as advertised. Drum kit players will find this cymbal useful for discovering new, creative motifs and its small size should certainly increase the drummer's precision. Percussionists may find this a suitable substitute for expensive mini-bells or small triangles, which can be awkward at times. This is a very high-quality, inexpensive and unusual cymbal that opens new doors of creativity. The bang-to-buck ratio is unparalleled. Am I embellishing? I think it's worth the price to see for yourself.
