Very versatile mic

5

This is a great mic for recording musicians of all levels. It can be used to record great vocals, punchy drums, miking pianos, or as an overhead mic for drum kits. The reason it is so versatile is because of its high SPL capability. No matter what you are recording, though, you can rest assured that the end result will be a nice clean sounding recording ready to go on your next album! And with an all metal body, you are ensured a long life to use on projects for years to come. This is a real hands on product review by Steve at Sam Ash Music in Lyndhurst, OH.

Awesome vocal mic for a great price

Great large diaphragm mic for vocals guitar and even brass. Warm clear sound and can handle up to 155 decibels of SPL. The bass cut filter gives you a lot of control over your sound when you are recording something from a loud source. Great for home studios.

Good Heft in Every Sense

Just because you are on a budget doesn't mean you have to give up on getting a pro sound. Does it sound like the best mic ever? No, but it isn't trying to. It's just a very honest mic. It's like an old friend. It tells you when you aren't performing your best, but it IS a friend, so it will compliment you where it can. Details don't disappoint, just like AKG shows. You will be hard pressed to find a better quality mic in this price range.

The AKG P220 is a great condenser microphone for anyone looking to start recording. Very nice, warm sound with a bass filter switch and high SPL decibel switch which allows for a variety of tonal choices. Sturdy construction. It comes with the shock mount and hard shell case which is a great bonus.
