The J-45 Studio has a unique bell-like shape, a larger lower bout, and a small round upperbout which gives this new addition to our Advanced Jumbo family of guitars a unique voice. And the J-45 Studio is made with Epiphone’s century’s worth of experience in crafting world-class guitars that are meant to be played.

Acoustic guitar players know it’s difficult to find an instrument that has both a deep bass tone and crisp loud projection. Nice guitar for a great price

Decent quality, aesthetically beautiful, average tonality

I'll start by saying I'm not an expert. However, I currently own 7 acoustic guitars. This was the least expensive, and almost to my surprise, you can tell (sometimes price doesn't reflect quality.) That said, it's great for what I paid, it's beautiful, plays nicely, and sound quality is a bit subjective. What I like and what you like may differ. I'm comparing it to a Martin DM, a Yamaha A3M, and a Fender Redondo Select, all of which are clearly superior (and 3-4 times the price.) It's not a fair comparison. I bought an open box unit at a nice discount, and it's in perfect condition. Can't complain.

Epiphone's version of the J-45. Great price. Performance is stellar. Plays far about its price.

Son got his wish for a guitar.

My church recommended this guitar and my 42 yr old son loves it. He's wanted a guitar for a long time but I really didn't know how to buy him one. I don't have a car so I called Sam Ash. A representative over the phone with Sam Ash was very helpful and friendly

Very nice guitar

A really nice, easy playing guitar for adults. Nicely made with good tone woods and hardware. Sitka Spruce top; Mahogany back and sides and Mahogany neck. These seem to be priced at a great price for what you are getting. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending to a friend. I'm very happy with my purchase. Very good value.

This Epiphone Acoustic Guitar is well worth the cost

The Epiphone AJ-220S is a well built Acoustic Guitar that has a sloped shoulders body and great sound it just can't be beat for the price. If it is setup right it plays great and will play as good as a acoustic costing 4 to 5 times the price.

Before you buy check out Sam Ash

Right out of the box this guitar was ready to play. I usually have a new guitar set up but did not have to with this Epiphone. I really love this guitar. It plays and sounds like it would be much more expensive. I got a great deal from Sam Ash and received it very fast. I would recommend checking them out if your looking for something. You will be satisfied. Jerry

It doesn't make sense

I have been playing, buying, selling and buying more guitars. This guitar, today, plays and sounds as good as any I own, including my 1958 J45, which I bought new, in 1958. I don't know how it's possible to build and sell a quality instrument for so little. So now, you can spend $3,000 for a guitar... but you don't need to. Woody Guthrie used to say, "If you're using more than 3 chords you're just showing off. I'm saying, if you are spending more than $150 for a guitar, same thing!

Pleasantly Surprised

The reviews are true. For the price point this guitar is hard to beat. Great feel and good tone with very nice playability. This is not some cheap guitar with high action and tight string tension. The only thing is the action is a bit too low. Otherwise, I highly recommend this acoustic!
