It has tons of knobs, faders, and buttons onboard and everything is mappable inside of Ableton. If you run live loops from Ableton and don't have the budget for a Push, then this is he controller to go with. I am a verified Sam Ash Reviewer.

One of my biggest pet peeves of recording is having to use a mouse to adjust any parameters on my music. The Launch Control XL basically eliminates all of that headache. Automaps to ableton but will work with any program do that you now have physical knobs and faders to control your sound. Small and portable.

This little guy is marketed as a controller for Ableton, and while it's true that it connects instantly with that DAW, don't neglect the fact that it can control just about any DAW. So if you're looking for an external controller for Pro Tools, Logic, etc., this will do it, and at a price that none of the other fader controls can tough. A great product for a home studio, especially if desk real estate is at a premium.

As an Ableton user, the Launch Control XL has been a savior. Easily integrates with Ableton, and saves me from a ton of mouse clicking and dragging while do mix downs. Easily installs and sets up within minutes. The faders feel great compared to other controller in this price range. Still compact enough to take on the road for studio work or a live performance. Also easily MIDI maps to almost any DAW on the market. A must for anyone working "in the box".
