I should have bought one of these years ago. It is all I want and need in a delay pedal.
Love it! Very smooth and dark analog delay tone, and with the mod on with the width up a bit and the speed down a bit (from factory settings) it's got a lovely tape warble to it. It plays very nicely with my heavily distorted bass tone too.
Came highly recommended. I was very pleased. Not overly complicated. just plain works.
It has been a great pedal. It sounds amazing, and really enhances the sound of my guitar.
if you want a quality delay pedal, this is it
The Carbon Copy Delay is easily one of the best and simplest pedals on the market. Its tone is very analog sounding. Very smooth, very accurate, very warm. It's super easy to dial in and change when needed. Plus the "mod" button adds a certain sparkle to the tone when switched on that's just awesome. If you don't need a tap tempo delay, then look no further. This is a staff review from Memphis @ Store 57 in Indianapolis.
I did quite a bit of research on delay pedals and opted for the analog MXR Carbon Copy to compliment the warm, natural tone of my tube amp. I have been extremely pleased with my purchase. The sounds are so warm and rich. The modulation effect provides a lovely, full, deep tone that almost sounds a bit chorusy. If you want loads of bells and whistles and modeled effects, the Carbon Copy is not for you, but is you want something simple, with heart and soul that will provide true depth and substance to your tone, by all means, do yourself a favor and pick one of these up.
I use it for slap back Rockabilly sounds and it gives a great 50's vibe. When playing spacey rock songs I just use a longer delay setting and let the groove grow, This pedal does a lot more and is quite versatile. I know many other players that are using this same unit and I would recommend it to anyone.
i love this delay pedal! easy to use, sounds great. you can get a great range of delay tones from slapback to distorting oscillation. i have two on my pedal board.
