It Does Indeed Metal!

A really good pedal that is a great starter for someone to get that METAL sound, I mean, it says METAL in the name of the pedal, so, there you go! To be serious, it's a moderately well distortion and noise gate pedal all in one. Very ideal to take to a friends house and scare their family with some chunky tones, but more of a compromise of a high end setup. At worst, it gets the job done, at best, it's a combination pedal that "Metalifies" any amp guitar setup you need, without needing a send/return fx setup like a Metal Zone does. Guitar -> Input -> Output -> Amp Input.

Great Pedal For Metal and Heavy Rock

This pedal is awesome. Its very beefy and does a great job at creating a deep metal/hard rock sound. The noise gate is okay, you have to open the pedal to change the settings though which is kind of annoying. And the Mid-Scooping setting is kind of useless because you should never scoop the mids. But the six control features, Volume, Gain, Low, Mid, Mid Freq, and High give you some nice controls over the tone, It took me a bit to find the sweet spot but now I love the pedal and its staying in my pedal chain!

Good for riffs, not for lead.

I didn't get to test this thing out in the store. My friend had one but he never plays solos. I got this thing home and I think the sound is abrasive. It's okay for doing chords. But when it comes to solos it blows. It's very artificial sounding to me personally. It has no warmth and is too crunchy. It almost hurts your ears when you have the high up. When it's down it's just noise. I wish I would've kept my [$]

AMazing!!! the gate and the scoop bottom makes the diferrence it its made for real metal and definition!!!!! FULLY RECOMENDED for all you METALMANIACS! Has a lot of gain I dont need much of it cause I play metal and Rock CHEERS

I got this pedal a couple of weeks ago, and there is nothing else like it. Ive tried multiple boss distortions, and other metal pedals. nothing else like it. the built in noisegate is great for live preformances. it cuts out all the humming and the ringing without killing your sound. ive used it for live shows, practices, and recording. i use a Marshall mghdfx100 half stack with a Prs Custom 24, w/JB seymour duncan pickup. this pedal is awesome!

all the rifff power you need in one box

I feel in love with this pedal when I tried it this pedal has the perfect distortion for Metal has great gain on it and built in with a noise gate to reduce that buzzing sound from the high distortion and has a reasonable price for such a compact device that offers great sound and effect to your guitar

Nice Edgy Sound...

Nice metal pedal. Offers a range of crisp edgy/raspy Dimebag style effects but does not dig down real deep for punchy low death metal sound. It sounds more raspy then deep. It has lots of fine tuning options. The frequency knob is the most fun to play with and can provide some unique effects. I still prefer my old Digitech Black 13/Scott Ian pedal for ultra heavy riffs. But this pedal is useful and I am happy with this purchase. My equipment: Vox Valvetronix XL amp, BC Rich & ESP guitars.
