Upgraded after my Firestudio Mobile bit the dust. This is a great unit for someone that does not have a permanent studio (although it can be synced with other units to form a larger interface) and does a lot of their recording on the fly. If you happen to run a jam or are an open mic host and you want to start offering low-cost recording options, this should work well. Additionally, if you want to run this in a live setup in addition to recording, you can assign several different pairs of mixes to route to speakers, with or without built-in FX from the interface. To top it all off, you can ditch the computer completely and run this as a standalone mixer. I have not spent too much time with the available program CueMix, but it looks to be a competent PC/Mac program with some useful tools for both recording and live sound options. I am using an older system with a firewire port (Mid 2009 MacBook Pro) and these two work seamlessly together.
