I have no experience with synths (just some piano lessons in the back of my brain from childhood) and bought this as a present to myself. So far I have had a blast learning and messing around. I bought this in person at the store and they sold me the floor model for full price. Is this normal? Everything works and seems brand new so it worked out, but curious how common this is. I would have preferred brand new but there were none in stock. Anyways, Moogs are awesome. If you are able to - visit the factory and museum in Asheville, NC. I knew nothing about synths before visiting and left with a new little passion and curiosity. I realize this is a rather advanced model for someone just messing around, but I plan to grow and learn with my instrument. I am just in awe of the quality and possibilities of the Moog!

I just wanted it for subtle touches. Not a main lead instrument for MY use.

The name MOOG is practically synonymous with synthesizers themselves at this point, especially with that of analogue and modular synthesis. And in an age of easy-to-use, easy-to-learn digital synths and keyboards, it's nice to see that MOOG is still thinking ahead and keeping up to date with what customers want while offering a little extra. The Subsequent 37 is a fantastic learning synth for anyone just looking to get into modular synthesis. It automatically comes with some preset sounds voices for users to get a hold of (about 240 total), with an additional 16 blank sets for someone to configure to their hearts desire. Learning the ropes of modular synthesis is easy and fascinating for anyone on this thing. The only nitpicks may be that the monophonic nature of the synth is a little limiting for some, but such is the nature of a MOOG. Regardless, this is an opportunity for Electronic music fans that shouldn't be missed out on!
