Definitely worth recommending.
Basically plug and play, recordings are great, small enough to fit in your pack, and beyond my expectations.

My experience with USB mics has been that they don't compare with Pro-Audio level microphones -- thin, overly bright, high noise floor, etc. However, the Apogee Hype Mic is Surprisingly competitive, and surprising low self noise, even when A/B'ing against large diaphragm condensers, like Neumann U87's and TLM 170's, and AKG 414's. Compared to the Sennheiser MK4 USB it's a little brighter and slightly thinner. But when not A/B'ing head to head, the results are quite good. I A/B'd against the MK4 and I like the MK4 a little better. Also, the MK4 has no buttons or level adjusts that can be inadvertently changed. Just plug it in and it works. The one plus of the Apogee over the MK4 is the use of mini USB to Lightning or USB cables that come with it. Almost all USB mics come with very short cables -- probably to reduce noise or signal degradation, but a bit of a hassle. The hype Mic is not different in that dept. As far as the onboard processing, like the 3 compression modes, I find them to be not useful. Though for Semi-Pro users, Pod casters and amateur home recordists, they might find those features useful. In Pro Applications, not so... unless you want something to sound overly processed. The Apogee also has a built in headphone jack and blend-able output . Again, probably best for non-pro's, but can be useful. For the price, it's the best USB mic I've tried only second to the Sennheiser MK4

I'm plugging this mic directly into my ipad and using it to broadcast live music performances from my house using Facebook live during the quarantine. Very easy to use and sounds great. People have commented on the quality of the sound. Highly recommend. Got a great deal from Sam Ash.
