I have the Marshall 2061x head and the 1973x combo: both beautiful hand-wired tone machines. The Studio Vintage compares extremely well to both of these amps and at half the price. It may like a little of the 3D shimmer/sparkle that the others have but unless you're playing them back to back there really isn't much of a difference. It's still a totally addicting tone plus there's also a wider range of tone available in the Studio Vintage. The amp looks the part too! I think the only thing that lets the amp down a little is the rather cheap looking, plastic jacks that Marshall used on the back of the amp. I'm sure they're perfectly functional but they don't match the rest of the aesthetic aspects of the amp. Overall I'm really happy with this amp and would certainly recommend it to anyone after that quintessential Marshall tone. I didn't get chance to play it through the matching cab but I am running it through the 2061cx 2x12 cab and it sounds fantastic - really ballsy and punchy. Try one, you'll like it!
