I bought the Mackie CR5BT studio monitors to use for music in my den/office. I placed them on 30 inch stands approximately 18 inches from the wall. They paired with my phone on the first try. The sound was average but that was to be expected from a compressed source. I connected my CD player to the RCA inputs and was impressed by the quality. Led Zeppelin's remastered "Houses of the Holy" sounded dynamic and spacious. The strings on "The Rain Song" were vibrant. Robert Plant's vocals appeared to be between the speakers in a phantom center channel. The bass and drums were solid on the "The Crunge" and the electric guitar on "The Ocean" was bright without being shrill. The class AB onboard amplifier power was more than sufficient. The wood cabinets are plus. These are a solid value. Thanks to Marc at my local Sam Ash store for his assistance with the selection and purchase.
