Weak speaker with plastic panels

I purchased a VOX DA5 a month ago, before the Line 6 Micro came out. Yesterday, I went to the store and returned the VOX for the Line 6. Today I went back to return the Line 6 get the VOX again. I had high hopes for the Line 6, but the quality wasn't there. The front and top panels feel like they are plastic. The knobs don't feel sturdy. It sounded like they put a weak speaker in it. While playing my PRS Custom the amp would get too much distortion and that was in the clean mode with the gain turned off. For a better clean sound I put it in Crunch mode and turned the gain off. In the distortion mode, it just got muddy and sounded like a mess. It sounded better with my Epiphone Les Paul, but turn the volume up a little more and the amp lost it again. I did not like the effects, not enough control over them I didn't really like the sound. Maybe I am asking too much of an amp at this price, but while the VOX will not allow me to save settings it does sound great and the presets are pretty close to what I like. If you want a really dirty sound, this amp might be for you. If you want a better range of sound try the VOX. If possible give it a try in the store first before buying.
